Heart Layout: the gentleman column

In continuation of the last post featuring the Heart Layout using the Pixie’s Astounding Mlle Lenormand cards I will offer some possible suggestions for your consideration.

Background on the Couple: There was a recent separation between these 2 people and the lady has many thousands of miles away to pursue a work opportunity.

1. On his Mind

35. ANCHOR:

Position 1:  On his Mind

The Anchor card suggests security situations.  The Gentleman is thinking about what is  stable in his life. This card is often used to indicate work. Since I am asking about the relationship the meaning of the Anchor card will take on a slightly different. I want to read the Anchor as a card of perhaps being stuck in a certain emotional state.

In the background of this card you can see a ship on the water resembling part of the scene in the 3 of Wands. After further study of the positioning of the actual anchor it seems to me the Gentleman may be more grounded in his thoughts. Sometimes you can get stuck if you are too grounded.

22.  PATH:

Position 3:  What he faces

The Path card is fairly clear in it’s interpretation.  What will the Gentleman do? Will he make decisions in his life because of this separation from the Lady?  Is it time for a change of direction anyways?

Within this card I am reminded of the background of the Tarot Moon card.  Some uncertainty in the moonlight path leading to the mountains. There is always some doubts in decisions.

The Gentleman has options. There could be a difficult choice awaiting him. It’s always a good idea to consider card 5 in the center to evaluate whether or not position 3 reveals positive or negative approach to future circumstances. The Rider is the transporter of this decision & will bring it to the Lady.

In the next post we will see what’s on the Lady’s mind about the relationship and what she faces as well. Finally, in the last card which joins them we will see the Outcome.

The Heart Layout for relationship questions

I get questions quite often about relationships so I decided to create a very simple layout using only 5 cards plus the Lady and Gentleman cards. When you look at the layout in the image you can see an “H” which stands for Heart thus the name Heart Layout.

The image below features Pixie’s Astounding Mlle Lenormand cards.

Heart Layout

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Remove the Lady and Gentleman cards from the deck prior to shuffling. Place them on the table so that there is room for one card between them.

2. Shuffle the cards thoroughly thinking about your relationship and the person who you are involved with perhaps what’s they are thinking, etc. Maybe you don’t even know yourself what you really are feeling. The cards may reveal additional information you hadn’t expected.

3. Cut the deck as many times as you feel necessary and proceed laying the cards according to the image.

4. Place card 1 above the Gentleman, card 2 above the Lady, card 3 beneath the Gentleman, card 4 beneath the Lady and card 5 between the Lady and Gentleman.

I chose to place the Gentleman in the left column because I am asking a question about the future of his relationship. If you are a female and asking for yourself you would place the Lady in this spot and the Gentleman in the last column.

After you have completed placing the cards in the Heart Layout study them before jumping in with interpretations. Do each column of the “H” separately.  Study card 5 Outcome. Do you see any challenging cards? Does the layout look promising?

I will interpret this layout in the next post because I want to expand on Edmund’s cards a little further. Each position will be explained plus some of the key meanings for the cards situated in these positions.

Jan 23/12. Pixie’s Astounding Mlle Lenormand Cards

Another fantastic add to my Lenormand collection created by Edmund Zebrowski. His creative masterpiece the Pixie’s Astounding Lenormand Cards.  I want to thank Edmund for granting me permission to share the cards in my posts. You can join as a fan to Pixie’s Astounding Mlle Lenormand cards Facebook Page —–>CLICK HERE.

Limited edition 400 decks. There are 38 cards in the deck. The cards are comfortable to shuffle as they measure 2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″. The surface of the cards have a textured look to them. The accompanying LWB tells a fun story of creation. Two of these extra cards depict Pixie as the Lady and A. E. Waite as the Gentleman. If you are familiar with the traditional Tarot cards namely the original Rider deck you will find it of great benefit in understanding some Lenormand cards meanings. Many of these cards are set in a scene which corresponds to certain Tarot cards.  Take your time studying this deck and as with all decks – develop a good understanding.

What a great idea merging these two systems. I look forward to doing a Reading featuring this deck.  With my 40+ years experience with the Tarot it will be interesting to thread the concepts together. It will be a very exciting exercise interpreting Edmund’s creation. The write up below is not overly complicated so that I can mention a few cards and keep the post at a reasonable length.

26. BOOK:  Notice the 2 pillars and drapes in the background. How ingenious to associate the High Priestess with the Book. All answers are in the Book. In the Lenormand interpretation much depends on which way the book faces depending on the artistry of the deck.  Books have unknown information. Books record the past. Books write about the future. I think if you keep in mind the teachings of the High Priestess you will gain a different perspective on the Book associations.

26 BOOK. 4 TREE. 24 HEART
(My camera charge wasn’t finished when the writing bug hit me, lol. Sorry about the poor quality of the cell phone images.)

5.  TREE:  Not everyone can recall every detail on the Tarot cards and still have to get the deck to compare. When I first saw the Tree card I was immediately reminded of the tree in 4 of cups. Sometimes we do become lazy and take our health for granted. I noticed the falling Yods coming from the tree.  In my Qabalah training Yods represent the life-force. The Lenormand Tree’s meanings are connected to well-being. I find water in the foreground hinting at one’s emotional well-being as well.

24. HEART:  Alas, we find the heart from the 3 of Swords but without the daggers. When I looked at this card I knew some pain could be associated with this card.  Which one of the Lenormand cards will pierce this lovely heart with a dagger? The Lenormand Heart represents feelings. These feelings can be love, romance or desire but not the same desire as the Lily card.

28.  Pixie – Lady.  29. A. E. Waite – Gentleman. 14 Fox

Pixie/Waite. Lady/Gentleman. Fox

28. LADY 29. GENTLEMAN. A modern version of the female and male significator cards. You can incorporate Pixie and Waite into your shuffle but you should assign a description to these 2 cards. I’d consider using them as the elders/grandparents of  family. You can omit them in a Reading. I’m sure you can think of other ways to include these two cards in your Readings.

14. FOX: You should without a doubt think about the background clouds of the 5 of Swords if you know your Rider Tarot well enough.  The meaning of Fox does not differ much from the male in the Tarot as both will try to get away with something…or trying to outsmart someone. Of course, there is much more to this can than meets the eye.

If you already own this deck …. lucky you.

How will the Hierophant & Minor 5′s energy influence us?

AQUATIC TAROT is illustrated to demonstrate theme of post & for the soft beauty of watercolors

5. Hierophant

I was gifted with a book back in the mid 1980′s which explained a system of analysis for any chosen year using Tarot cards.

Tarot Constellations: Patterns of Personal Destiny by Mary K. Greer. 1987

I believe Mary was one of the first authors to link the cards together like this starting with the Major Arcana & the sub Minor Arcana cards.  I like this system. For a personalized system all you do is add the current year to your birth month and day. To explain the entire system would be a separate blog post in itself.  I highly recommend Mary’s book which can be purchased —–> HERE.

For example: 2012= 5 + March= 3 + 10:  5+3+10= 18/9= Moon/Hermit influence

In this case you would study the Moon and Hermit along with the 9′s of the minor arcana

Another example: 2012= 5 + October= 10 + 10:  5+10+10= 25= 7 Chariot influence plus the minor 7′s.

Numerology teaches us that #5′s presents challenges. Sometimes everything goes well and then all of a sudden there is an issue or thorn in your side which you need to yank out to move on. Take a look at the 5 of spades.

5 of SPADES

One of the spades in right in the middle. To get beyond it you must remove it. If you go around it on either side it will still be in the middle and so challenge was not overcome it was averted.

5 WANDS

5 CUPS

5 SWORDS

5 PENTACLES

FIVES:  Topic of today’s post is the current year 2012 which reduces to the #5. The Hierophant is associated with #5 and the minor Arcanas 5′s named  in the images. I’d like to write about my perceptions on the Minor Arcana cards laced with a bit of traditional undertones and how they might influence us all.

5 OF PENTACLES:  this card often represents financial setbacks or finding comfort in a situation with people enduring the same setbacks. I think many people will be confronted with financial barriers which will be imposed on them by people in positions of power. The HIEROPHANT has that kind of power. The power to teach us we must accept what he says. I believe this is sometimes called DOGMA. Dogma is in all organized thought.

5 OF SWORDS: this card talks about either winning a situation because there is no further opposition or walking away from a provoking situation. You either challenge the HIEROPHANT by refusing to stay with the same ol’ same ol’ or you accept it and empower the Hierophant even more. When an organized system gains that much power what chance do those people have who wish to walk away?

5 OF CUPS: this card spells out regret and loss. Many people will lose some of their positive emotions over the events that will come to pass. There will be feelings of regret. Life patterns will change. Many of these changes will occur directly through the HIEROPHANT’S power. It could be almost a feeling of “there’s nothing we can do about it”.  In other parts of the world disaster hits bringing not only loss but loss of faith in leaders.

5 OF WANDS: this card shows playful fight. It could be a game or it could actually be some sort of training to prepare for an event. The HIEROPHANT trains the initiatives (monks in the foreground) to adopt teachings of yesteryear. The monks don’t own their own beliefs because they did not choose them. Since Wands represent fire and action I think some groups of people are just itching to fight. If the HIEROPHANT says, “fight” then the characters in this image will take the playfulness out of this training.

I think the external events of 2012 will challenge us on every single level. We will be faced with removing the obstacles by challenging such organizations and institutions that the HIEROPHANT represents. On the flip side if we do nothing and open our arms to the HIEROPHANT & his subsidiaries we will not overcome the challenges.

What lessons of the HIEROPHANT  will we learn?

2012 is the year of the Dragon. I think those monks in the image of the HIEROPHANT card will rise up!

Don’t play hide and seek with Dogma.

Jan. 22/12. The 3 Card Answer Layout – Pages of Shustah

Happy 2012 – listen to the teachings of the Tarot Hierophant

The 3 card Answer Layout easy to use with any deck of cards.

I decided to use the Pages of Shustah© cards to demonstrate the Answer layout.

The question is about the future of a potential  relationship with a certain gentleman for female K.

The overview of the 3 positions and brief meanings of the cards appear before my actual interpretation of the cards in these positions.  The image below is self-explanatory.

future of relationship question

Card 1:  Past

An influence or person is about to leave the current scenario. It could be an experience, which is just passing that makes way for something new that is about to enter your life.

GREEN: Lord of Contemplation – energy of this card is one of progress. A card of deep thought & focus.

INTERPRETATION:  The Lord of Contemplation clearly represents female K has been thinking about a certain male in the recent past.  The energy of this card is not stagnating as it is followed by another green card in the Now position.

Card 2:  Now

Describes what is going on currently. Here you can find out if the person is dealing with challenges or good influences from another person or situation. Often personal thoughts and feelings are revealed.

GREEN: The Candle - energy of this card is one of progress. A card of shedding light on a situation.

INTERPRETATION: Female K hasn’t given up on the potential of this relationship. This card reminds me of the olden days when candles were lit and placed in a window as symbolism of loyalty to the object of love. The light of the candle burned for that special person to help guide their way back home.

There are no cards in this layout to indicate the “light” has gone out on the hope of a relationship. Even though the last card is Black it does not possess the energy often associated with darkness.

Card 3:  Answer

This card describes the answer to your question.

BLACK: Astrological sign of Virgo - energy of this card is one of timing. A card ruling 6th house associations.

INTERPRETATION: It appears the answer about the relationship lies in Mercury ruled Virgo. The two preceding Green cards indicates development.  In Astrology the sign Virgo rules house 6 representing work and well-being.

Astrological signs/planets differ in interpretation.  The multi-level meanings go hand in hand. The time frame for the potential of a relationship will fall during the Virgo sometime during mid summer 2012. The feeling I get from the last card is that “work” delays a quick development, however, Virgos are known to be slow & methodical in their approach to most things.

I would encourage female K. to keep the “Light” burning as depicted in the 2nd card, the Candle. Also, it is important to continue keeping the lines of communication open and flexible in regards to further progress in a future relationship. Mercury rules communication.

TIP: In general, when you read cards it is important not to use a mesh of meanings for the same card or you will get a vague outcome. Could be this….could be that…. is not very comforting to the person seeking your Card Reading expertise. If you don’t know just say so.  Know your cards really well!

Happy New Year 2012

Wishing everyone a FANTASTIC 2012

For all you Lenormand lovers grab your favourite deck, shuffle it and fan the cards on the table face down.  You can do this method using the Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten, Biedermeir, Kipper, Art Deco fortune-telling deck and most other sibilla style decks. People have done this for years with the Tarot cards.  Actually, today is a good day to do a yearly Celtic Cross.

To keep things relatively simple one card will do just fine
but you can pick another one as a contributing influence.

Select 1 card and turn it face up.

The card you are looking at will be your Yearly Card.

Study the card. If it doesn't make sense now it will make sense later
when an actual situation comes up requiring guidance.
HAPPY CARTOMANCY IN 2012

Trigger Layout interpretation

UPDATE: JANUARY 16, 2012

Lady SD accepted the job offer and is moving several thousands of miles from where she lives now. She is leaving behind her the constancy of a relationship/home environment. Time will tell if Lady SD will experience the dark side of the CLOUDS.

MAGISCHES LENORMAND

Here’s a smaller pic of the Trigger Layout for the purpose of the Magisches Lenormand interpretation to follow.

Lady SD is in the You spot of the Trigger Layout because we are asking about her question. Any card can be selected in the You spot in this particular layout. Actually, you can do a random reading and not select any card for the You spot to see which card sits there. This will give you a clue to what you perhaps should be addressing. Also the time frame of the Immediate & Soon columns can be predetermined prior to interpretation as I have done.

I scan the Trigger Row (see image) to see which are the most significant cards. Lady SD’s trigger row holds BEAR behind her (past), MOUSE ahead (immediate spot 1-2 weeks) and BIRDS/OWLS as the last card (soon spot 6-8 weeks).    Continue reading

ending 2011 with Magische Lenormand in Trigger Layout

1/2

Part of me wants to end 2011 with a huge send off and part of me wants to welcome 2012 in a different way. I have my European superstitions about New Years Day something my mom used to tell me since I was a little girl. Coming from Eastern Europe (Slovenia) which has a history of gypsies roaming the streets, lol, much of this superstition has been passed down by word of mouth.

Many old traditions have died with my mom & dad much to my sadness. One of my neighbours told me that I am to start new traditions in lieu of their deaths. I happen to like the ‘old way’ which to me is really the ‘new way’. Everything is recycled sooner or later…..

Ok now that I got that out of my heart on to the reason for this post.  I decided to use to Magische Lenormand in the Trigger Layout (so much easier than using 36) as the final post of 2011.

Really, any deck of cards works in this simple 12 card layout.

Lady SD was wondering about a job opportunity which would mean she would have to relocate thousands of miles from where she is now.   I am never quite sure how the Lenormand will answer such questions and I usually pull out my Pages of Shustah deck for these straight forward questions.

To keep this post a little shorter and offer a huge image of this amazing deck (shown to illustrate the Trigger Layout and shown for it’s beauty) I’ll continue the interpretation in the next post.  Hint: black side of clouds facing future….

MAGISCHES LENORMAND

I hope everyone has a safe holiday season no matter where you are in the world. Wishing you all the best in the New Year 2012. Let’s keep  the faith and continue sending out healing energy to Mother Earth for all of us but especially for all the new children entering this Earthly realm.

insights about the Buckland Romani Tarot

QUESTIONS from Comments by LORRAINE:

I saw these cards online and was lucky enough to win a deck on ebay for a great price. I fell in love with the deck when i saw it online, just had to have them. the images are so *real like* Once i got them though, unn, I do say a few cards are quite different. I know to go by what we ourselves see in the cards but still would like help in your view..thanks so much.

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU LORRAINE FOR YOUR COMMENT and being so patience for my response. I LOVE THIS DECK AS WELL. IN ANSWER TO SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS I HAVE WRITTEN MY INSIGHTS ABOUT THE CARDS YOU ASKED ABOUT. I am viewing this deck on one of my favourite websites called TAROTECA until I get my own copy which I thought I had.  :)

the hierophant from what i undestand is a blacksmith, i do these kinds are hard to find, therefore, we should respect them……………Your view ?

THE BLACKSMITH IS POSITIONED AS THE #5 CARD HIEROPHANT. THE TRADITIONAL MEANING OF THE HIEROPHANT VARIES. ONE MEANING OF THIS CARD IS TO ABIDE BY THE CONVENTIONAL TEACHINGS OF BELIEF SYSTEMS. BASICALLY, TO FOLLOW WHAT WAS…AND NOT QUESTION IS.  THE BLACKSMITH CERTAINLY DOESN’T RESEMBLE THE HIEROPHANT IN THE VISUAL BUT I SUPPOSE HIS CRAFT HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN FROM THE GENERATIONS AS WELL. HE SHOES THE HORSE. THE HIEROPHANT SHOES THE DISCIPLES.  WHAT I SEE WITHIN THE BLACKSMITH CARD IS A PERSON WHO HELPS THOSE (ANIMAL) IN NEED OF SUPPORT.

Who is the FOOL in your life?

The image features the FOOL card from The Light and Shadow Tarot by Michael Goepferd and Brian Williams. The kit contains 78 large Tarot cards measuring 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Also, there is a 208 page accompanying  book with 83 images, description of the cards and the meanings. The images are a little different than the traditional Rider deck but the symbolism is awesome. (Black and white imagery is fantastic for psychic development.)

0 The Fool

About the card: The Fool doesn’t look too worried stepping into the alligator’s mouth. He is too busy looking at the butterfly.  The monkey holds on to his right ankle trying to keep him back from his next step. The all seeing eye is the blind faith which the Fool possesses. There is another image of 2 characters embracing looks like a mother and child to me.  When I study this card I get a fun feeling filled with drama. Oh, to be a Fool with no cares in the world and trusting all will be good.

WHO IS THE FOOL IN YOUR LIFE?

The Fool card is ruled by the unpredictably explosive planet Uranus. If you know anything about Astrology, Uranus transits are about upheavals.  Many of us know people who create upheavals in our lives. These people are very unique in their approach to life.

The Astrological sign of Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. These people tend to keep things light and only put energy into vital matters.  They seem to let things roll off their backs so easily that I’m sure they are the envy of those who hold on to the consequences of their actions. Friends and community are important (11th house in the Zodiac).

I bet you can think of someone represented by the Fool.  This person probably wears mismatched socks, bright colors and is a friend to all.  They have difficulty in personal relationships and demand emotional freedom. You cannot hold this person down to a commitment for long.  They love to wander and explore.

When the Fool card comes up in a Reading it could represent your own state of mind at the time. It can represent another person you have to deal with. Don’t even try to understand this individual just accept them.  In situation questions this card tells you to be a bit more daring and to take the risk.

If you fall in love with the Fool you are falling in love with an aspect of yourself which is hard to control. They say people in our lives mirror our own personalities be they light or shadow.

Are you a Fool in love with a Fool?

Tarot 5 of Cups

Lo Scarabeo 5 of Cups Tarot

The Lo Scarabeo Tarot’s imagery is very provoking. You almost don’t need traditional background in Tarot to understand the above image with the exception of knowing that cups represent emotions. You could probably figure out that cups have something to do with fluids. And what is more fluid than emotions?

l had the 5 of Cups as the crossing card in the Celtic Cross Reading I did when I asked if my mom would be ok after her unexpected surgery last year. I did not read this card to mean death but mom died. Yes, grief is associated with this card. You experience grief through most losses. Sometimes the grief is brief and other times it lasts months & years.

In the image the person is sitting above 3 reversed cups. Whatever was in those cups is lost. A cup cannot contain liquid when upside down. Above the person are what appear to be 2 full cups. The person wears black a sign of sadness in most cultures. The person cannot see the upright cups because his or her hands cover the eyes. Often we do not see other opportunities when we are grieving.

To utilize the positive energy within this card the suggestion is to look at what just happened. Face it. Don’t avoid the loss or grief. Each Tarot card carries positive advice even if it is traditionally negative in nature.

If I were to see this card again in my Reading I would have to keep an open heart so that I don’t get caught up in the loss or regret depicted by this card. There is always someone or something that can be appreciated. In love situations, the 5 of cups can suggest hurt feelings and disappointment. In work situation, you may not get the job you applied for or get a raise but there is something better coming. In legal situations, you might win the case but at what cost.

Focus on the 2 upright cards and ask for guidance to help you through the situation.
