Tea Leaf reading cards

The tea leaf reading workshop was fun. The instructor was 3rd generation reader and taught the traditional techniques as well as her family’s method. My girlfriend was intrigued and for me it was mainly a review.

I prefer to read the tea leaves much like coffee grounds. What is on the rim is immediate and as you go deeper into the cup (bottom) will be the distant future. The only thing you really can’t do is the thumb print wish on the bottom of the cup filled with tea leaves (too messy).

My girlfriend and I played with Rae Hepburn’s tea leaf reading cards into the wee hours of the morning.  There are 200 cards of which 6 are Astral cards depicting a particular theme of life you are wondering about. There are 12 astrological cards which are used in the horoscope reading.  Then 4 additional cards are placed in each zodiac house. Our  horoscope wheel reading took almost 3 hours to interpret since we had to look up the meanings in the book. I also dated and recorded my girlfriend’s reading. We were like a bunch of little girls giggling at the predictions.

The book includes a weekly spread of 7 cards. The horoscope layout mentioned above and the Pyramid layout which uses the Astral card plus 9 cards. The time frame for the latter layout is about 4 months.

You don’t need to memorize the tea leaf cards because there is a sentence on them to give you a clue about the meaning of the card. The book expands the meaning a little more.

I must give credit to the instructor when she told me I would get unexpected company with 2 days. We had an unexpected visitor the very next day.

The Tea Leaf Reading cards would be a fun entertainment when you get together with your friends.

Tasseomancy: tea leaf and/or coffee grounds reading

When I think back to my teenage years (many moons ago, lol) I think my very first exposure to fortune-telling began one summer while I was in high school. My family went on a vacation to Slovenia (former Yugoslavia) and my aunt read my coffee grounds first following by the gypsy fortune-telling cards (Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten). The deck could have been Lenormand as well because I remember seeing the Rider card. My aunt told me when I went back on the long distance trip a young man was waiting for me. This turned out to be my kid’s father. But then again it could have been the Lover card in the Zigeuner deck.

I saw symbols even before that European vacation. Of course, I didn’t talk about that subject much. I thought everyone saw what I saw and felt what I felt.  I do think my clairaudience started right around that time. You know, that voice which speaks softly to you when you want to listen to it. This voice is different from you Ego driven voice.

This is the same aunt mentioned above sent me the gypsy cards/book in the early 70′s. I almost forgot that there is a section for coffee grounds reading in this 100 year old book which is written in Slovenian. My mom used this same book often for dream interpretation as there was a chapter on that, too. I did find out another Slovenian relative was a channel & was feared in that tiny village where I was born nestled in the Julian Alps. I suppose most people in that part of Europe (Austro-Hungarian empire) were involved in some form of fortune-telling.

I recently ordered Rae Hepburn’s Tea Leaf Reading Cards. I am looking forward to playing with them. I watched Rae’s video on YouTube (kudos to Spiritsong for the link) & I hope Rae offers more tutorials on her marvellous creation.

Tonight I am engaging in a private tea leaf reading workshop. I am always open and respectful of other people who practice similar hobbies.  I’ll write a short summary on this workshop later.

connecting the dots & dashes

On Saturday, April 16th  I attended the Awakening Your Hidden Powers one day workshop: An introduction to Shinjukyo taught by my dear friend Janos and author of Wake Up! A practical guide to awakening your Hidden Powers.

How do you awaken your hidden powers? One way is to think for yourself. Janos goes into quite a bit of detail in his handbook on how to reclaim your Energy which leads to self-empowerment.

Janos is also the artist who created a magnificent deck of Sibille cards for Seaqueen. Due to the tragic turn of events in 2010 this project was put on a temporary  hold. Time does Heal. Seaqueen’s Cards which should be available later this year.

Highly recommend this book if you need to regain self-empowerment

Original Kipper Wahrsagekarten

I was excited to receive the Original Kipper Wahrsagekarten in the mail today.  I have done several posts on these cards already and hope to continue with the deck. Any of you who maintain a blog know it takes a certain commitment to write articles. Sometimes we get carried away with things in our life and often we get dragged into things in other people’s lives. :)

There are 36 cards with German titles.  The 13 extra cards (content on both sides) in the deck explain each card in German. This would be similar a 26 page LWB. The colors on the images are bright and the cards are about the size of a regular standard deck.  Easy to shuffle. Doing a Reading with this deck is in keeping with a variety of other Sibilla style decks.

I’m looking forward to doing some Readings using the Kipper cards. I am in the midst of sorting out about 60 card/book sets I received as a gift from someone special. My Aussie friend bought an entire vintage collection from a lovely lady who (believe it not) lost interest in Cartomancy. Lucky me.

Not sure what my next article will be about as I have so many card systems I would like to feature.  Also, I am waiting for a Lenormand deck sent from Europe which will blow your socks off.  It is breathtakingly beautiful.

3 card draw using Phantasmagoric Theater Tarot

In today’s post I will do a simple 3 card draw to gain some insight into a dear friend’s situation.  A yes or no answer would be good as I am thinking of a time frame on behalf of my friend.  I recently acquired the Phantasmagoric Theater Tarot in a trade. The cards are very large sporting some really cool images. Shuffling or rifling this deck could be a challenge. Luckily, I have large hands. For those of you with smaller hands I suggest you fan them out on the table and mix them up that way.  In a nutshell,  this deck is “a stage” and each card is a “play” with “actors” and “props”.  The images appeal to the Piscean actress within me.

The 42 page LWB has some very simple meanings with a description of the images on the cards.

The cards are being used in this tutorial post to demonstrate the 3 card draw. They can be purchased from US Games Systems 179 Ludlow St., Stamford, CT 06902

Question:  will the property sell by June 2011?

Meanings assigned to the positions of the 3 card draw for this particular question.

Card 1:  Situation surrounding the property for sale

The Seeker

The question marks in the image just about sums up the situation around the property which is for sale. The astrological glyph for Virgo is situated right under the old Hermit represents the 6th House of everyday work and service.  The property definitely is involved in work as it also contains a business.  In the lower right hand corner is one single  jigsaw puzzle piece.  The sale of the property is only one piece of the puzzle of life direction.

This current waiting time is happening for a reason. Other factors are not established yet in the grand scheme of things.  The time is being given as a gift to further contemplate what it took to get this property in the first place and why it is “really” for sale.

Card 2:  The solution

Sergeant Winner

What a cute King of Swords even though he’s trying to look real tough with that sword.  Is the skull suppose to scare you?  There is tiny symbol for the Spade on the King’s right forearm.  Symbolically, spades are linked to work. As a solution card the suggestion for the property owner is to become more aggressive with the promotion of this property.  The card can also indicate hiring a real estate agent who isn’t taking his sweet time attracting potential buyers.  More energy is needed to show this property.

Card 3:  The Answer

The Stage Set

Interesting final card.  In the image a figure sits at the table holding his head which is the World.  On the table are the 4 elements of the Minor Arcana. Plant- Earth. Filled Glass- Water. Candle- Fire. Cloud- Air.  He has everything before him that he needs to nurture the outcome/result.

From the LWB “fulfillment of desires, success, worthy deeds, favourable outcome”.

The Sun is smiling in the lower right hand corner of the card.

This Card points an almost certain YES the property will sell by June 2011.

Madame Dora’s fortune telling cards

What a cute fortune-telling system by Lynn Lott, Rick Naymark and Jane Nelson.

Madame Dora’s set includes 50 cards with characters we can relate to. Each card has a special message right on it. A further explanation can be found in the accompanying 155 page book. The cards are really easy to find in the book because they are in alphabetical order. I really like the color scheme and size of these cards.

Just for fun I did a one card draw.  Humble Harriet was selected at random from the shuffled deck.

Madame Dora’s fortune telling cards

Humble Harriet says,

“Don’t put yourself above everyone else”.

The one statement which stands out from the accompanying book is that friends/people in high places are working behind the scenes on my behalf and to expect good things.  I did have a very important question on my mind when I drew Humble Harriet.  Basically, the advice given is on behalf of someone else which will indirectly touch my life too.

I’m curious to see how the day will unfold according to Humble Harriet.

UPdate: Dec 22

Humble Harriet represented a medical situation.  My precious grandson went for his regular check up & I think the people in high places working behind the scenes would be the nurse & doc. It was all about what was in my grandson’s highest good (the check up).

Lucid Dream

Last night I had a dream of a big black bird.  I don’t recall what type it was but I do remember it wasn’t really friendly.  It’s beak seemed to be prominent as it swooped by me.

I have my own interpretation of this dream. As always I enjoy other people’s feedback.  If anyone would like to share their insights as to the symbolism of the big black bird please make a comment.

Psychic Experiment

I have been interested in remote viewing for many years.  I see a similarity in techniques when I do practice psychometry on an object or when I channel psychic information through other tools such as cards.

I misplaced a ring several years ago which is of great sentimental value to me. On numerous attempts I have meditated on it’s location and can see myself in the final stages of placing the ring in a location, however, I blank out after that, not quite seeing where the ring was placed.  My inner voice to sending me a message that I need to find this ring once and for all for a type of closure.

I wanted to do an experiment with some of the readers of this blog to ask assistance in the location of this ring.

I thought it would be interesting to involve people who are interested in the practice of remote viewing.  Listed below are a few steps to consider if you decide to participate.  I believe the ring’s location can be determined.

This exercise is not in controlled remote viewing as you will know what the target is but you will not know what it looks like by description.  The only thing you know is that the object is a ring, the target is round.  I don’t want to rule out any modes of channeling information and offer some suggestions below.

The Experiment:  Location of Ring

  • The mind must be cleared of all the ego chatter.  This step is the most important and the most challenging to achieve but it can be done if but for a few minutes.  The information which enters during one of these minutes should be written down immediately without judgement or questioning.

What you may receive is an image of what the ring looks like.  This step is not that important but the surrounding area where the ring is placed is of greater interest enabling me to re-trace my experience.

I am looking for a location such as a room, section of a room, another object the ring is touching or near.

  • When the ego comes in and doubts the information you receive, jot this down on one side of the page labelled Ego.  On the other side of the page, have the heading Psychic View.
  • Any and all emotions or sensations should be written down because this will help me to identify perhaps an area which I have an emotional link to.

USING CARDS:

You can use your favorite cards as a tool to gain access into the other realms where the information is stored to produce similar results.  The Lenormand cards would be fun to do with this experiment as there is a RING card.

PSYCHOMETRY:

You can write down the question, ‘where is Seaqueen’s misplaced ring?’ on a piece of paper.  Hold the small piece of paper  while meditating on the question  and opening up to the channeled data you will receive.  The first impressions  should be recorded.  Try not to force any information, just let it happen.

PENDULUM:

Pendulums are a great tool as well, however, in this case of psychic remote viewing it would be a good idea to draw a sketch or diagram of different rooms in a house.  There should be a doorway out of the house in case the ring was removed by someone.

OTHER METHODS:

If you can think of other methods to gain access to information which could provide some concrete clues that’s great.

I do not remember exactly what the ring looks like but I do know the circumstances around getting the ring.  I don’t think the description is vital because my subconscious mind will be sending you an image of it whether I consciously remember or not.

Thanks a lot if you decide to contribute to the psychic remote viewing experience.

memories of a child

Cat, co-author of Oracle Speak blog has written a wonderful post about Christmas.  Many people have these memories tucked away for safe keeping.  I really admire Cat for her honesty and for sharing the story.

I think that after you read the article it may help you to understand a little more about your journey as an adult during this Christmas/holiday season.

Ghost of Christmas Lost

reading tea leaves continued

In continuation of a previous post on how to read tea leaves, I will conclude this topic with some more symbolic meanings.

I had to laugh the other day when I was drinking a vegetable mixture and looked inside my glass to see a wonderful array of symbols.  I spotted many different figures and scenes.  It was fun to do.  In fact, I notice things like that when I am in company with others because I glance at their empty cup or glass to see if anything stands out.  I don’t forward the information often unless asked.  I find that people tend to ask questions which really should be reserved for a one-on-one consultation.  After all, if you are sitting at a table and a doctor is there, you aren’t going to ask for a diagnosis, are you.

I think anyone who is involved in one of the Divining Arts deserves the same respect.

In the other post I completed the letter N.  I am only doing a couple of symbols for each letter of the alphabet and some combination examples at the end of the post.   Continue reading

Tips on reading Tea Leaves

Lesson in preparing for reading tea leaves.
Use a wide cup so the leaves have a chance to form symbols.
Make sure the cup has a handle because it is the starting point for the reading.
The handle is YOU

1. drink all your tea but about a teaspoon
2. make a wish but you don’t have to
3. swirl the leaves around the side of the cup 3x
4. turn the cup over onto the saucer
5. wait about 5-10 minutes to make sure all the excess tea is on the saucer
6. flip the cup over and hold it in your left hand.
7. start reading the images by the handle. These predictions will come true with a few days.
8. any symbols on the bottom of the cup with indicate the distant future. You determine the time frame prior to reading the tea leaves.
9. don’t try too hard to see accurate pictures because they usually are not clear.
10. Don’t rush the reading because you might miss some of the minor details
11. Practice as much as you can
12. Keep a tea leaves prediction journal

Reading tea leaves is lots of fun even if you think you don’t know how.
There are symbols around us everywhere. Many pictures you see within the cup are common sense meanings.
Remember to use a wide shallow cup because it’s easier to see all the interesting forms. Try it- you may surprise yourself.

WARNING: tea leaves readings are addictive. Only read them once a day. If you get into this habit, your predictions will not be more than a couple of days, possibly a week into the future.

Ok here are a some symbols to consider. Continue reading

Medicine cards- expanded version

Today I had a lucky find in a thrift shop of all places.

The original Medicine cards and book I have were published in 1988.  There are 44 animal cards with 9 blank shields cards. (which are intended for the individual to use once the power animals become known to the person)

The version I bought today is the extended deck of 52 cards plus the 9 blank shields published in 1989. The books are identical with the exception of the latter being purple hard cover with 246 pages versus 214 excluding the blank lined pages at the end of the books.

I was amazed at the excellent condition of the book and cards.  I have mentioned in other posts that I had the opportunity to meet David Carson, co-creator of the Medicine cards at the 2006 Prophets Conference on the west coast of Canada.  (a jammed packed weekend of some very interesting ‘new age’ thinkers) I attended one of the workshops which featured speaker David Carson.  He introduced his new deck 2013 cards prior to publication which he described one by one in detail.  I still have my notes somewhere which I took as he spoke.

I sat very close to the front in the large room with some 400+ people from all over the world who attended this amazing conference.  I bought David’s latest book ‘Crossing into Medicine Country’ which he autographed.

The book mentions we have 7 power animals from the 7 directions, north, south, east, west, above, below and within.  The remaining 2 power animals walk with us, one on the left and one on the right side.  (male & female energy) I have yet to determine my 9 power animals but have a sense of some of them because they guide me through the astral travel planes.  A trip I don’t always plan on, :) it just happens. The 9 blank shields are for this purpose.  The power animals belonging to this entourage are not necessarily within the 52 cards of the deck.  They can be other animals you feel a kinship to or that are significant to you in some way.
