question about the Heart Layout (Lenormand cards)

Hi there, I have a question about the Heart Layout. What does it mean when you get “The Book” card for No.5-Outcome. The other cards are “the bear” over the lady’s card, “the tree” below. “The house” over the gentlemen’s card, and “the paths” below. I am a beginner and have difficulties interpreting the cards. The spread is for a female, a friend of mine:). Thanks in advance!

THE HEART LAYOUT

A SHORT INTERPRETATION OF THE LENORMAND CARDS IN THE HEART LAYOUT

In a previous post when I introduced this layout position #1 stated “on his mind” because the reading was for a male. In this example from the comments section the layout involves a female thus the change to “on her mind” in the first column. I don’t have much background information about the Lady in question so I will go ahead and briefly summarize just the cards.

I am using the Mlle Lenormand Cartomancy deck 19115 which can be purchased from PIATNIK.

ON HER MIND: BEAR

The Lady is thinking about someone who has a powerful influence in her life. It appears her thoughts are very strong about a certain male. Traditionally, the Bear card represents an older man and many times this card suggest money issues.

WHAT SHE FACES: TREE

Coupled with the Bear card I have to wonder if there is an issue involving a male’s general well-being. Often the Tree card brings to surface minor setbacks.  Since this layout deals with relationships I want to read the Tree card as other people’s involvement in this situation which could be temporarily hindering the Lady’s progress.

ON HIS MIND: HOUSE

The Gentleman in question is thinking about his family or things pertaining to his home. When the House card is coupled with the Gentleman the suggestion is close bonds to family members.

WHAT HE FACES: PATH

Perhaps the Gentleman is involved in a decision involving a member of his family or someone close to him. He is facing a choice. I do see a decision coming because as you can see with the Outcome card the Book will reveal something more about the entire situation.

OUTCOME: BOOK

When you get the Book as an outcome card  especially if the open side of the book faces one of the significator cards such as Gentleman or Lady there will be a resolution soon.

Studying the cards in the layout and keeping in mind the Lady is probably wondering about the future of a relationship with the Gentleman she will gain knowledge within a short time.  There are no detrimental cards in this layout. I think there are extenuating factors involved which would affect “this relationship” and  I do see these factors as an integral part of the Gentleman’s life.

The Book faces away from the Lady. I want to read this combination to mean that she will be of great assistance to the Gentleman in his process of decision making.  The reason I am reading the Book in this manner is because this card joins the Lady and Gentleman. Looking at this trio & keeping in mind there are no negative cards the analysis leans towards a more positive outcome.

Column 1:  Past – Cards 1,5,8.  WIDOW LOSS MERRIMENT

-describes the recent past-the last few days or the recent circumstance around your question.  These cards can reveal your subconscious QUESTION.

The Widow releases her Energy creating the activated Loss (Trigger) card. Merriment is the resulting energy. The Widow (let’s suppose we use the grieving process as the meaning) creates a feeling of some regrets. After we experience the meanings of the Loss card the resulting Energy is contained in the Merriment card putting us in a more playful mood. We all feel better after a good cry or acceptance that yes we did lose something or miscalculated a situation.

Column 2:  Now-Cards 2, YOU, 9. OFFICER SWEETHEART LOVER

YOU can be any card

The YOU position does not have to be the Sweetheart or Lover card. In answer to one of the question in the comments section when no YOU card has been pre-selected just shuffle the deck/cut and lay cards starting at #1 position (see diagram) continue laying the cards.  The card which falls in the YOU spot is significant.

-describes the now-what is going on with you -YOUR THOUGHTS and FEELINGS.

The Officer releases his Energy creating the activated Sweetheart (Trigger) card. Lover is the resulting energy. The Officer (let’s suppose we use the official process as the meaning) creates the preoccupied thoughts of the female. After we acknowledge these thoughts (if you are the female of the Reading) the resulting Energy is contained in the Lover card revealing a special male is involved. This applies to any card you choose to be YOU where a specific question is asked.

Column 3:  Immediate- Cards 3,6,10. WIDOWER DESIRE LETTER

-describes the immediate future, a day or so. These cards will tell you what INFLUENCES to anticipate. [you can change the time frame prior to the shuffle, for example you can designate this spot to mean within 1 week. I chose 2 weeks.]

The Widower releases his Energy creating the activated Desire (Trigger) card. Letter is the resulting energy. The Widower (let’s suppose we use the grieving process as the meaning) creates a feeling of yearning. After we experience the meanings of the Desire card the resulting Energy is contained in the Letter card putting him in a situation whereby he receives news (which ties in with the Officer). The Sweetheart is concerned about the Lover male & a situation around him.

Column 4:  Soon- Cards 4,7,11. FORTUNE INFIDELITY MISFORTUNE

-describes soon, less than a week. These cards give you an ANSWER to your question. [you can change this spot to mean within 3 months  but it is important to keep that in mind before selecting the cards for the layout. I chose a 1 month time frame]

Fortune releases her Energy creating the activated Infidelity (Trigger) card. Misfortune is the resulting energy. Fortune  (let’s suppose we use the hopeful gain  process as the meaning) creates a feeling of betrayal. After we experience the meanings of the Infidelity card the resulting Energy is contained in the Misfortune card revealing a negative Answer.

Infidelity is the Trigger card.  The answer is a definite no because of a situation where the Lover (significant male of Sweetheart) has been lead on to believe that he will experience the benefits of the  most positive card Fortune.

The Trigger Layout will be explained further in the Learning Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten (Gipsy cards) handbook which is nearing completion. If all goes well I should have a limited printing by the end of May as well.

Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten – 12 card Trigger Layout

Dear Friends: Thank you for all your kind well wishes for my granddaughter Katja. All is Good.

In todays’ post I will be using one of my favourite decks in the Trigger Layout. The Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten or Gipsy fortune-telling cards. Sometimes you just don’t want to do a full board Reading. It does get overwhelming trying to interpret all 36 cards. This is exactly why I designed this simple layout.

You have an option as far as time frames with this layout. Prior to shuffling decide what time frame you want to use in Columns 3 & 4. Remove the Sweetheart (if female) or the Lover (if male) from the deck.  Lay the cards according to the image below:

I always scan the Trigger row (middle) first to get a feel of the situation. I don’t talk about this row right away. I usually start at Column 1 – Past

Note: You don’t have to use the Sweetheart or the Lover cards. You can pick any card out of the deck which you think represents your situation. Also, you can decide not to pick any card at all and that’s ok, too. The cards will tell you what it is you need to know at the time of shuffle.

TRIGGER row – 5, YOU, 6, 7. LOSS. SWEETHEART. DESIRE. FALSENESS

This row is the essence of the reading, the rest of the cards will describe or explain to you what surrounds the essence or core theme. When you read these cards you will get a good glimpse at the entire layout.  The remaining cards are the details surrounding the TRIGGER cards.

LOSS. SWEETHEART. DESIRE. FALSENESS.

Let’s keep the interpretations real simple. A female who in the recent past experienced some sort of shortcoming in a situation or an actual loss is yearning for things which may not be in her best interest. These 4 cards are powerful. We need to find out what lead up to them and what followed them. That’s just one way to Read these cards.

Heart Layout: conclusion interpretation

The conclusion of the Heart Layout interpretation is as follows:

4. What she faces 

The Key card contains promising energy for all questions. This card tells you there is a solution to almost any dilemma or situation requiring further decisions. The image shows the waxing and waning moon with the key in the center. Well, that is the way I want to read the image. To me this indicates cycles of the moon as there is cycles in any problem or question. A time when the situation seems to be full blown and a time where less energy is consumed to think about it.

The lady in the Reading is taking a wait and see approach perhaps letting the situation solve itself which many times it does. Sometimes doing nothing at all is doing something.

5. OUTCOME:  The Rider card joins the Gentleman and Lady but does not provide a definite answer about this relationship. In this image we find the knight of cups holding what could be the Caduceus which is a symbol of medicine. Medicine often signifies the opportunity for healing. The cups knight does represent positive energy as well in romantic situation.

Is there a chance for the relationship to continue on some level?

Taking all the cards into consideration especially the final card, The Rider, I feel that the relationship is not completely over despite the distancing between these 2 people.

In fact, The Rider will bring the Gentleman closer to the Lady whether in miles or on an emotional level. Also, the Key card brings more of a favourable contribution.

Heart Layout: Lady column

I am always happy to receive comments  about cards/layouts which I write about. Many times I include other people’s insights for sharing of perspectives.

Michele was kind enough to share her insights on a situation between the Gentleman and Lady in the Heart Layout started in the previous post. Thank you Michele.

“I think the lady is facing a situation where she thinks about a successful new start (Stars), and that new start is supported by Spirit (Key). It is like she’s driven by her life/soul path )Stars above her, guiding her, Key below her, pushing her to travel). Either the man will travel to join her, or she has already met someone new. Here is where it helps to have the client around to ask.”

Position 2: ON HER MIND

It looks like the Lady definitely has clarity of her goals.

Lady Column: Heart Layout

I love the “hidden” sea nymphs (angels)  in the Pixie’s Astounding Lenormand Stars card. There is a feeling of profound subconscious guidance within this lovely image.  The Lady in question is following her “star” at the current time.  Often when we analyze the Lady and Gentleman we study which way they are facing.  You will have to use your intuition on this method because in many decks the Lady always faces to the right and has her back on the cards behind her in the past. This does not mean she is always turning her back on those situations. It means that her focus is more on the future rather than the past.

Another meaning of the Stars card is “success”. The Lady is convinced her decision to relocate and accept a new job opportunity is in her best interest..

Heart Layout: the gentleman column

In continuation of the last post featuring the Heart Layout using the Pixie’s Astounding Mlle Lenormand cards I will offer some possible suggestions for your consideration.

Background on the Couple: There was a recent separation between these 2 people and the lady has many thousands of miles away to pursue a work opportunity.

1. On his Mind

35. ANCHOR:

Position 1:  On his Mind

The Anchor card suggests security situations.  The Gentleman is thinking about what is  stable in his life. This card is often used to indicate work. Since I am asking about the relationship the meaning of the Anchor card will take on a slightly different. I want to read the Anchor as a card of perhaps being stuck in a certain emotional state.

In the background of this card you can see a ship on the water resembling part of the scene in the 3 of Wands. After further study of the positioning of the actual anchor it seems to me the Gentleman may be more grounded in his thoughts. Sometimes you can get stuck if you are too grounded.

22.  PATH:

Position 3:  What he faces

The Path card is fairly clear in it’s interpretation.  What will the Gentleman do? Will he make decisions in his life because of this separation from the Lady?  Is it time for a change of direction anyways?

Within this card I am reminded of the background of the Tarot Moon card.  Some uncertainty in the moonlight path leading to the mountains. There is always some doubts in decisions.

The Gentleman has options. There could be a difficult choice awaiting him. It’s always a good idea to consider card 5 in the center to evaluate whether or not position 3 reveals positive or negative approach to future circumstances. The Rider is the transporter of this decision & will bring it to the Lady.

In the next post we will see what’s on the Lady’s mind about the relationship and what she faces as well. Finally, in the last card which joins them we will see the Outcome.

The Heart Layout for relationship questions

I get questions quite often about relationships so I decided to create a very simple layout using only 5 cards plus the Lady and Gentleman cards. When you look at the layout in the image you can see an “H” which stands for Heart thus the name Heart Layout.

Heart Layout

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Remove the Lady and Gentleman cards from the deck prior to shuffling. Place them on the table so that there is room for one card between them. 

2. Shuffle the cards thoroughly thinking about your relationship and the person who you are involved with perhaps what’s they are thinking, etc. Maybe you don’t even know yourself what you really are feeling. The cards may reveal additional information you hadn’t expected.

3. Cut the deck as many times as you feel necessary and proceed laying the cards according to the image.

4. Place card 1 above the Gentleman, card 2 above the Lady, card 3 beneath the Gentleman, card 4 beneath the Lady and card 5 between the Lady and Gentleman.  

I chose to place the Gentleman in the left column because I am asking a question about the future of his relationship. If you are a female and asking for yourself you would place the Lady in this spot and the Gentleman in the last column. 

After you have completed placing the cards in the Heart Layout study them before jumping in with interpretations. Do each column of the “H” separately.  Study card 5 Outcome. Do you see any challenging cards? Does the layout look promising?

I will interpret this layout in the next post because I want to expand on Edmund’s cards a little further. Each position will be explained plus some of the key meanings for the cards situated in these positions.

The 3 card Answer Layout easy to use with any deck of cards. 

I decided to use the Pages of Shustah© cards to demonstrate the Answer layout.  

The question is about the future of a potential  relationship with a certain gentleman for female K. 

The overview of the 3 positions and brief meanings of the cards appear before my actual interpretation of the cards in these positions.  The image below is self-explanatory.

Card 1:  Past

An influence or person is about to leave the current scenario. It could be an experience, which is just passing that makes way for something new that is about to enter your life.

GREEN: Lord of Contemplation – energy of this card is one of progress. A card of deep thought & focus.

INTERPRETATION:  The Lord of Contemplation clearly represents female K has been thinking about a certain male in the recent past.  The energy of this card is not stagnating as it is followed by another green card in the Now position.

Card 2:  Now

Describes what is going on currently. Here you can find out if the person is dealing with challenges or good influences from another person or situation. Often personal thoughts and feelings are revealed.

GREEN: The Candle - energy of this card is one of progress. A card of shedding light on a situation.

INTERPRETATION: Female K hasn’t given up on the potential of this relationship. This card reminds me of the olden days when candles were lit and placed in a window as symbolism of loyalty to the object of love. The light of the candle burned for that special person to help guide their way back home.

There are no cards in this layout to indicate the “light” has gone out on the hope of a relationship. Even though the last card is Black it does not possess the energy often associated with darkness.

Card 3:  Answer

This card describes the answer to your question.

BLACK: Astrological sign of Virgo - energy of this card is one of timing. A card ruling 6th house associations.

INTERPRETATION: It appears the answer about the relationship lies in Mercury ruled Virgo. The two preceding Green cards indicates development.  In Astrology the sign Virgo rules house 6 representing work and well-being.

Astrological signs/planets differ in interpretation.  The multi-level meanings go hand in hand. The time frame for the potential of a relationship will fall during the Virgo sometime during mid summer 2012. The feeling I get from the last card is that “work” delays a quick development, however, Virgos are known to be slow & methodical in their approach to most things.

I would encourage female K. to keep the “Light” burning as depicted in the 2nd card, the Candle. Also, it is important to continue keeping the lines of communication open and flexible in regards to further progress in a future relationship. Mercury rules communication.

TIP: In general, when you read cards it is important not to use a mesh of meanings for the same card or you will get a vague outcome. Could be this….could be that…. is not very comforting to the person seeking your Card Reading expertise. If you don’t know just say so.  Know your cards really well!

Trigger Layout interpretation

Lady SD accepted the job offer and is moving several thousands of miles from where she lives now. She is leaving behind her the constancy of a relationship/home environment. Time will tell if Lady SD will experience the dark side of the CLOUDS.

MAGISCHES LENORMAND

Here’s a smaller pic of the Trigger Layout for the purpose of the Magisches Lenormand interpretation to follow.

Lady SD is in the You spot of the Trigger Layout because we are asking about her question. Any card can be selected in the You spot in this particular layout. Actually, you can do a random reading and not select any card for the You spot to see which card sits there. This will give you a clue to what you perhaps should be addressing. Also the time frame of the Immediate & Soon columns can be predetermined prior to interpretation as I have done.

I scan the Trigger Row (see image) to see which are the most significant cards. Lady SD’s trigger row holds BEAR behind her (past), MOUSE ahead (immediate spot 1-2 weeks) and BIRDS/OWLS as the last card (soon spot 6-8 weeks).

Part of me wants to end 2011 with a huge send off and part of me wants to welcome 2012 in a different way. I have my European superstitions about New Years Day something my mom used to tell me since I was a little girl. Coming from Eastern Europe (Slovenia) which has a history of gypsies roaming the streets, lol, much of this superstition has been passed down by word of mouth.

Many old traditions have died with my mom & dad much to my sadness. One of my neighbours told me that I am to start new traditions in lieu of their deaths. I happen to like the ‘old way’ which to me is really the ‘new way’. Everything is recycled sooner or later…..

Ok now that I got that out of my heart on to the reason for this post.  I decided to use to Magische Lenormand in the Trigger Layout (so much easier than using 36) as the final post of 2011.

Really, any deck of cards works in this simple 12 card layout.

Lady SD was wondering about a job opportunity which would mean she would have to relocate thousands of miles from where she is now.   I am never quite sure how the Lenormand will answer such questions and I usually pull out my Pages of Shustah deck for these straight forward questions.

To keep this post a little shorter and offer a huge image of this amazing deck (shown to illustrate the Trigger Layout and shown for it’s beauty) I’ll continue the interpretation in the next post.  Hint: black side of clouds facing future….

Trigger Layout interpretation

TRIGGER ROW: TOWER, DOG, COFFIN, SCYTHE.

First observation: The YOU spot of the Trigger Row  is occupied by DOG. This mean there is deep concern about a situation surrounding a friend. Usually, you remove the LADY or GENTLEMAN and place it is this spot but you don’t have to.

This friend DOG would have been of great significance TOWER in the past. The person would also be facing some major changes COFFIN in the situation which could possibly lead to what looks like a permanent ending SCYTHE.

When reading the Trigger row always look at the last card in column 4 to see if it is promising when there is a negative card ending this row. In this case the last card is LETTER coupled with RING to the left of it. Not a bad combination. The way I want to read this is that despite some sudden new directions in this situation there will be other circumstances coming up which could minimize the effect of the SCYTHE card.

1st COLUMN: CLOVER, TOWER, HEART

These three cards reveal a profound TOWER involvement HEART which was discovered within a short time CLOVER. Also, there is evidence of a break up TOWER + HEART which occurred without much warning CLOVER.

2nd COLUMN: CHILD, DOG, SNAKE

We carry the effects of the HEART card to the next column.  Feelings that are still in the beginning stages CHILD even though deep surrounding this friend DOG are met with some competition SNAKE. It could be another female QUEEN CLUBS because she lies to the right of the HEART card. There could be some unfinished business which is still continuing as revealed by the card to the right RING.

3rd COLUMN: FISH, COFFIN, RING

The FISH card can represent a financial matter or obligation which is nearing an end. Whatever the ties RING are it will take some time to sort out this situation.

4th COLUMN: TREE, SCYTHE, LETTER

A lot of Readers use the TREE card to suggest health related situations. Even if this could be a meaning using in this layout the SCYTHE shows a removal of the problem. I want to read these three cards to indicate past connections TREE will eventually end SCYTHE.  The LETTER offers an alternative to approaching the situation by discussing all the information surrounding this friend DOG.

Tarot advice reveals true feelings

I did a post on July 20, 2010 for Lady H.  She was asking a relationship question.  I used the Rider Tarot deck to gain some perspective on her question

Yesterday I received a follow up telephone call from Lady H. In the Reading she was facing a dilemma concerning a past romance and a potential opportunity with another male (Gentleman H)

Here is a quote from the 5 card layout suggesting insight into her dilemma regarding these 2 males.

WHAT YOU KNOW: 7 OF SWORDS

In the recent spot the 7 of Swords suggests Lady H might be trying to move at a rapid pace in regard to the gentleman she is asking about.  The Swords are not an emotional suit even though at times it feels like it. She wants to take off from a previous situation (2 swords in the background) but does look back to see if the are still there and stuck in the ground the way she remembers.  In other words, looking ahead still wanting what she had.

Lady H  married the man she already had.
