Interpreting the Mystical Lenormand trio reading

I received a message from a client who was recently shocked by some news she received from her employer.  Without telling me much details about what was going on she asked me do a short reading to see what the cards revealed.  I decided to use the Mystical Lenormand to answer her question.  I chose the  3 cards below.  Her question was whether this work change would benefit her.

Card 1- the recent past. #7  The Snake.

Queen of Clubs

I really like the art on this card.  The snake comes across as being regal.  Notice the golden egg.  Something will be hatched soon.  The news my client received is contained within this egg.  The protective energy of the snake can be misinterpreted as deceptive.  It is shielding or hiding the golden egg. In the background we can see the sun and moon indicating Karmic balance. In the upper right hand corner is the glyph for Scorpio- the stinging news.

Card 2 – current situation.  #11 The Whip.

Jack of Clubs

The man in the image has a big club and a whip.  The client’s experience is like getting an emotional beating from the news she just received.  You will notice several religious symbols in the background suggesting faith is under scrutiny.  I think this card is portrayed in a rather spooky manner with the bat flying by.  There are many wonderful symbols you can study in this card.  It is a very emotional depiction.  Probably the client feels like someone just dropped a bomb on her.  The Whip card is all about being forced or coerced into a situation.  It suggests being ticked off and ready to fight or argue.

Card 3 – the probable outcome.  #14 The Fox

FOX

A wonderful image of a fox.  Look at him taking a drink of water.  He looks after himself even though he has a bad reputation. The reflection of the fox in the pond suggests emotional duality.  A type of deception.  It looks like the snow is melting in the background which points to more information coming to the client.  How will the client benefit from this news with the Fox being the outcome card?  I feel that the fox is preparing for an attack and that is why he needs to replenish himself with the water.  This card is a warning for the client.  She is dealing with an unscrupulous situation or person.  The client could empower herself by using the Fox energy to fight against the news.

Often the Fox card is read to represent work not necessarily the job per se.  It means to work at something or to work something out.  As a solution card, I think the client will need to makes changes. She should  explore the opportunities which lay beyond the trees.  The mountains suggest there is hope beyond this current situation.  

The Fox does not kill for fun – it kills out of need. This card means that even if she finds herself in the midst of someone else’s underhanded activities it is part of working for a corporation. When I say underhanded I mean usually changes come without warning or preparation.  And yes it sure feels underhanded when it happens.

Ever wondered what the words “zigeuner” and “wahrasgekarten” translate to in English?

ZIGEUNER – german for Gypsy

WAHRSAGEKARTEN -

wahr- true, sage- say, karten- maps or cards.  In other words, true speaking cards.

In the example duo, gift and unexpected joy are fairly evident in the suggested meanings. Simply by looking at the images one can deduce there is a pleasant outcome from the act of receiving.

Some other considerations to think about.

 

• -You could get a proposition of some type.  No doubt you will be surprised because the offer is attractive and it may be just what you need in your life right now.
• -Initially you might be jolted by the turn of events which appears overwhelming at first.  You cannot believe the generosity of a person or situation.
• -You can be caught off guard despite the fact that everyone else around you knew about the development of particular situation.
• -A very important and unplanned situation lifts your spirits.  This freshness or newness is just what you need at this point in your life.

open ended 4 card layout

I will use 4 cards from the Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten deck to illustrate an open ended 4 card layout.  There are no designations assigned to the spots.  They will be read like a sentence, linking one card with another resulting in a theme.

This type of layout is good when you want to just read the cards as is.  You can use more than 4 cards or as little as 2.  I believe that no matter how hard you focus on a question, you will not always select the cards to give you the answer that is connected to the original question.  Most of the time you do, but not every time.  I’m not sure why this happens but I think it is because a person may be thinking about one thing and have deeper feelings about something else.

These 4 cards will represent the present or current time leading into the near future.  The last card can be viewed as the outcome/result card.  In the example, we are dealing with a man and a woman.  I will read these cards as if it is a female who cast the reading.

Sweetheart – the female doing the cards

Anger – the emotion she is feeling right now or will in a very short time

Lover – a male she is involved with

Death – conclusion, end, finalization, the outcome of the entire experience of the previous cards

Our main card for analysis is the Anger card.  Common sense dictates there is an argument involved or some conflict in communication.  The very in depth description can be downloaded  —->visit the direct link to  SCRIBD website.

That sounds way too easy doesn’t it.  Well maybe that is all it is, a “fight” which is sometimes normal for couples.  This “fight” is different, though.  The dynamics of the relationships will change dramatically. There will be an ending.  Most likely the female will know why this argument is happening or about to happen. Any plans that these two people did have will be cancelled temporarily.  If you wanted to at this point you could draw one more card to get a better idea why this fight is happening.  Place it across the Lover card. This new card will reveal to you what is on the Lover’s mind.  

The card crossing (clarification) is Merriment.  He could be thinking about the good time he had with someone else and this is why they are having heated words.  If the last card was a positive one (which it is not), Merriment would be read as the male being a peace loving individual who was easy going and who really did not want to argue.  Maybe the Sweetheart lady instigated it.  

Anger + Merriment= points to passion, intense emotions that come from a situation that gives much pleasure of the senses.  One of these people is having an affair or relations outside of the relationship.  The consequences of this affair will lead to an ending between the Sweetheart and Lover.  No matter what happened the relationship will never be the same.

Can it be salvaged?  We all know that in order for the birth of anything new, something dies. Yes, they can still be together if they forgive each other and rise above it.  And who can really do that when heightened emotions are involved.  Merriment suggests his thoughts are elsewhere.  He just wants to have fun and probably isn’t too seriously involved with the Sweetheart even if he is her husband.  

Other interpretations are possible & can be more specific when you do your own layout.

Hope card in combinations

The suggestions below are applicable to the Zigeuner deck (which is illustrated), Art Deco, Sibilla style cards, Biedermeir and many others. The meanings are only limited by your own imagination.

Hope+Widower/Widow. In this case the last two cards can represent people and will indicate that there is no marriage or committed relationship in the offing. You will basically stay single as in no romance. You will get your wish but it will be an “empty” victory.
Hope+Anger. This duo means that the only way to make any progress with regards to a potentially hopeful situation is to just fight for it. It doesn’t matter that this is not the right way but it is the only way. May the best (wo)man win.

Malady

21. MALADY (found in the Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten, Art Deco fortune telling cards, Biedermeir, #31 Kipperkarten, and many other Sibilla style cards.

ABOUT THE CARD

The appearance of MALADY in a layout points to a person or situation that is in a state of imbalance. Sometimes using illness as an excuse to avoid dealing with the reality of a situation or accepting responsibility.

Sickness, illness, being a temporary patient. Resting at home in bed hiding under the covers. Beside the sick bed is the medicine bottle, a glass & a spoon or medicine dropper- it doesn’t look like it has been used. Or maybe the woman is too sick to administer her own meds & she needs help. Are you neglecting someone in need?

Notice the single bed... maybe that is part of the problem- there is no night time companion to whisper in your ear words of love or to hug you when you have one of those scary dreams.

Or are you just feeling tired and run down or feeling stuck within your own negative thoughts.

This card can suggest the necessity to rest. In some cases it will indicate a leave of absence from your job.

There are many reasons we get sick. When you identify the cause you can see the solution. I get sick right before a major decision or some significant pending change. I don’t get sick-sick, but I shut down and rest completely and do not talk to anyone for a day. This is my way of re-charging my batteries.

The image of the Gipsy-Zigeuner cards in the image is from my deck I received from my aunt who lives in Slovenia 3 decades ago, prior to mass reproduction.

The brief meanings of these 3 cards are as follows.

The Officer is professional matters where the uniform is not necessarily the attire.

The Letter would detail correspondence and communications.

The Misfortune card would indicate an unexpected situation or an emergency.

From these 3 sentences a variety of interpretations can be determined and pretty obvious ones.

In the Sibilla Indovina (Sibilla fortune teller) deck there are corresponding cards.

Comparing Zigeuner to Sibilla
The Soldier represents matters of an official nature, person can be uniform. A soldier and officer differ on some levels. In the images you can see the Officer card does not have his arms folded across his chest. It appears as though the Officer is leaning on his sword. In his right hand he holds his gloves- a symbolism of being a gentleman as well. The Soldier loks like he would be less likely to listen and would carry out his duty to the point of using his uniform to intimidate others.

In essence these 2 cards suggest similar meanings.

The Letter card portrays a postman or delivery man handing over a letter to the recipient standing in the window. In the Zigeuner card the envelope is being brought by a bird that is flying in the sky. In both cards there is a seal on the envelope suggesting importance, privacy or professional content.

The Trap card illustrates an man sitting on the ground overlooking a field. It’s hard to see if the bird overhead is a hawk or some kind but it could very well be -to be in keeping with the title. The Zigeuner Misfortune card is a little more hectic & chaotic depicting firemen attempting a rescue. There are flames and smoke engulfing everyone in the scene. Yes this is also a trap-

When these 3 cards come together in a layout it suggests major entrapment by some news or information that is received. It can be legal documents of any sort. Documents these day come in many forms, by mail, summons, email etc. Legal documents are not always connected to law, they can be connected to medicine ie. doctor, dentist, therapist, psychiatrist and so on. Documents can also be rejection and disapproval letters.

In romantic questions, there is a subtle warning that you may be lured into a romantic affair that will be detrimental for your emotional involvement.

In business questions, caution is advised because of a self serving individual who does not have your best interests in mind. As the saying goes, “if it is too good to be true, it probably isn’t true”.

In travel questions, you can expect some delays because of documentations such as Visas, boarding passes, tickets or cancellations.

As spiritual advice cards- the message is strong. Take a look at your own self-sabotaging attitude. Release your rigid thinking to allow better flow of information that you channel from your guides or from your methods of divination. By not being open to Spiritual flow will only prevent you from saving yourself from your own fire-driven Ego.

thief + officer

The two cards, thief + officer combined can have several meanings in a reading.

One of the meanings of Officer is a love interest, when coupled with the Thief card the suggestion is that the man depicted by the Officer is a con artist.

The other meaning of the Officer would be a man in uniform representing someone in an occupation that requires a dress code. Near the thief, corruption of character is indicated.

And yet another meaning for the Officer is professional matters where the uniform is not necessarily the attire. Close to the Thief card there is a high probability of loss, rejection or underhandedness.

I may have mentioned this before when talking about the Thief card in a previous post, this card suggest stealing something away from another individual. If the Officer is taken to be a lover (lothario) or one night stand – what is stolen is the person’s heart or body temporarily because the Officer card never stays around very long – he moves on.

The possibility of an undercover policeman or detective is an obvious combination but your reading should have other evidence of this situation.

Looking at the Thief card- the image portrays a man in the act of going through a window with a huge beam of light coming from the flashlight. He is calling attention to himself and would certainly be noticed. The officer looks like a cocky individual with hand on hip – a sign of a show off. Both cards hint at “look at me”.

Further study of these two cards one gets the feeling that the Officer is in the spotlight for something and an aspect of himself or one of his actions has been revealed for everyone to see. He has been exposed.

No doubt there are dozens of other combinations when placed with adjoining cards.

When these 2 cards fall in the 4th house of an Astrological wheel layout there is a strong suggestion of a burglary within close proximity to the actual home. It can also point to getting a security system installed in or around the property.

Jack of Spades

The bad boy

In all my years of playing (reading) cards I have not come across a real positive association with the Jack of Spades.

Most of the descriptions suggest that this Jack is a real bad character. In the Madame Lenormand cards the Jack represents the Child. I suppose a child can go either way in the early stages of development, either the good way or the bad way, the positive or negative /or different. Maybe Madame Lenormand knew something we have yet to discover.

The Jack of Spades has been called a liar, cheat, crook, con, traitor, lazy, thief, hostile, jealous just to mention a few choice words. Shadow aspects are assigned to this Jack even though any of the court cards can demonstrate these characteristics.

We have all been the Jack of Spades at some point in our lives to some degree. I am reminded of the Thief card #30 in the Gipsy Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten deck.

A thief does not necessarily have to steal “things”, a thief can steal your heart & trust. Things can be replaced but trust takes a little longer and to open your heart up again- is a long term healing process. Betrayals can also be a reflection of self-betrayal, how are you cheating yourself? When you get the Jack of Spades in a reading, pay attention to what is going on with you inner dialogue & outer actions.

When you draw the Thief card and it is beside the House card (Croatian kuca, lopov)- it could very well mean a theft, so secure your residence but don’t be a psycho about it. Cards forewarn and what has been forewarned can be prevented and therefore does not materialize.

Cards mirror the flow of now. If you ignore a warning or an unreasonable fear, then it will materialize exactly the way the cards say so. Sure you have Free Will -the free will to accept or reject -the free will to choose your reactions and responses to situations. The free will not to have a card reading done.
