connecting the dots & dashes

On Saturday, April 16th  I attended the Awakening Your Hidden Powers one day workshop: An introduction to Shinjukyo taught by my dear friend Janos and author of Wake Up! A practical guide to awakening your Hidden Powers.

How do you awaken your hidden powers? One way is to think for yourself. Janos goes into quite a bit of detail in his handbook on how to reclaim your Energy which leads to self-empowerment.

Janos is also the artist who created a magnificent deck of Sibille cards for Seaqueen. Due to the tragic turn of events in 2010 this project was put on a temporary  hold. Time does Heal. Seaqueen’s Cards which should be available later this year.

Highly recommend this book if you need to regain self-empowerment

Magical Lenormand

Magisches Lenormand

The Magisches Lenormand is truly Magical. If you click on the image you will be taken to their website.

INTERPRETATION:  Example Reading for the above Image.

Female consultant Lady Row 2 Column 3. Her significant other Gentleman Row 2 Column 2.

Notice how the Gentleman and Lady card face each other is such close proximity. When you see a duo like this in a full board layout you can be sure the people represented by these cards will see each other within a day or two. They are both thinking about each other or some close situation which can be determined by the surrounding cards.

Let’s zoom in on the Lady card. Above her sits the Key card. From this influence we know she is thinking of a problem or wondering about something which she hasn’t got all the facts. Beneath her card lies the Book which confirms some information is not revealed to her. Since the Book card is below and the open part of the book faces to the right (future) we know that she will find out about a situation involving a family matter (House card).

The card above the Gentleman is the Cross card. It seems he is going through some challenge and weighed down by these circumstances.  Below him lies the Mountain card indicating obstacles to his health (Tree).

When we analyze the Gentleman card in a diagonal row starting with the Snake card and ending with the Key card the suggestion is the Key’s influence is shared by the Lady as well.  An unresolved problem.  The Snake card can represent another woman who the Gentleman is tied to (Ring) by past commitment.  The Heart card (row 2, column 1) is right beside the Gentleman.  Obviously he is troubled about an emotional matter which could involve the Queen of Clubs from the past. This situation is of a public nature (Park, row 1, column 1)

Looking at the diagonal row involving the Lady card we have the Cross (shared with the Gentleman) ending with the Clover card (a problem solved quickly).

The Scythe card follows the Key card indicating an abrupt solution as well. The Moon card (row 2, last column) is beside the Lady card. The way I want to read this is that the Lady will cut off (Scythe) her emotions (Moon) until she gets further news (Letter) about a matter involving the family (House).

The cards in this layout point to different situations around the Gentleman and Lady. One situation binds them (Cross, Key) and I think the Lady is well aware of the Snake card’s influence and is thinking about it but has severed (Scythe).  She’s thinking about it and not doing anything about it. The other observation is the Tree + House cards. This can suggest an attachment to a past commitment (Ring) which involves the Gentleman.

Old Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards

The old gypsy fortune telling 36 cards by Whitman Publishing Co. are in amazing condition if they are from 1940. (wink)

The cards do have some yellowing and bending but for the most part are in fair-medium condition especially if they are 63 years old. It is possible. I have a Tarot deck which I purchased in 1971 and it has seen many readings, still in good condition. It is 36 years old as is my mini Rider deck. The cards from those years are heavier than the decks from now.

The box the cards come in says 19 cents. The instruction say the year MCMXL which is 1940. Not positive if this is a reproduction deck although the box looks authentic. Who knows these days.

I mentioned this deck in a previous post where I had bought the reproduction deck/kit at Chapters book store. I’ll have to look in my collection and compare. Also do a google search to determine the actual age. Last I looked this deck was out of print. I purchased this deck from an antique dealer. I have lucked out on some vintage decks in the past.  Lady Lorelei has a book/card set on the market that uses the Old Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards.

There is a layout in these instructions which is different from the typical 9×4 or 8×4 with 4 on the bottom. Later today I will experiment with a reading. The old gypsy fortune telling cards are similar to the Lenormand decks in that there are 36 images.

Instead of Lady #29 & Gentleman #28, there is the Queen #15 & King #14. The numbering sequence is totally different. The color on the Whitman deck is bright and simple. The French Cartomancy Lenormand deck which is my more favorite deck has very soft colors- good for triggering the psyche, as in the original Rider deck.
