Oracle of the Radiant Sun

Oracle of the Radiant Sun cards using the Sun Year layout.

I haven’t used these cards for a while and decided to do a yearly forecast. Actually I am only interested in the next 3 months & the middle Theme card which is below.

But I will study the rest of the months as we go along and make reference to the meanings of the cards falling in those months.

FEBRUARY- DECISION-Mars in Gemini

Knowing that Mars is the planet of action and Gemini is the “thinking” sign the meaning is obvious. Most of the energy has been put into intellectual realm. Designing & creating handcrafted projects would certainly come under this meaning and I have been doing precisely that. The word on the card is DECISION. In the Smith/Astrop’s companion book it is suggested that there may be fights & arguments. Well I can think of several heated debates over the last few weeks with a certain member of this family. Coincidentally she is a Gemini. As far as making a decision, perhaps I have by passionately working on my projects.

MARCH- EXCITEMENT-Mercury in Gemini.

Mercury is right at home in Gemini and it’s ruler, so it will be most powerful. Intellectual/mental chaos, the way I see it. My mind will be all over the place and there is the suggestion of some good ideas . Gemini rules the 3rd house as well which rules short trips, communication & siblings just to mention a few. It looks like March will be a very active month and I will be doing lots of talking. Hmmm maybe that workshop I have been thinking about will finally be a reality in March. This would be an excellent time to study or facilitate a workshop because the planet & sign are in good placement in the cards that is.

APRIL-CHARITY- Saturn in Cancer.

I am not so sure I like the image on this card.

Saturn is always a planet that will test you. Because it is in Cancer ruling the 4th house of home/family it makes me wonder if some situation will develop that will be emotionally unsettling. After-all, I am a Pisces with a Scorpio moon and my emotions can be volcanic, lol.

There are several ways to interpret this card using my own background in Astrology. Issues around family will be coming up and I will be directly involved. The image shows 3 figures leaving a building -and the angels from above are guarding them. To me it looks like someone is fleeing and will only have their faith as there guidance. We shall see what happens. I will update this reading- it is a great way to learn. After the fact is 20/20.

THEME CARD- INDEPENDENCE, Moon in Aquarius.

The theme card is one of emotional freedom & detachment when the Moon is in Aquarius. The removal of emotional attachment and looking at the “whole” of things and not so personal. That will be monumental because my few years of Spiritual retreat will be over and will involve groups of people. Back into the external world. Sometimes the grieving process is a long one after a significant person in your life dies……….

I would have to say, just like other readings I have done with this deck (& not posted) these cards cut right through and speak their truth. Glancing at the remaining cards it looks like within 6 months and not without challenges & struggles a new found emotional freedom awaits me.

Risk- Saturn in Aries

risk.jpgOracle of the Radiant Sun

I picked one card out of the huge deck of 84 astrology cards, as a guidance for today. I find the Smith/Astrop deck quite fascinating in accuracy. Having a good understanding of Astrology is helpful when using this method of divination.

How appropriate-the advice of the card is to use more humour today and not to take things or myself too serious. I woke up like that, thinking about the things I should do today in lieu of the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. My daughter was a Thanksgiving baby although she is far from being a baby now, lol-a beautiful young woman (Libra, ruled by Venus).

Measured risk- hmm, I’ve heard that before. To me that means calculated and predetermined risk. When you calculate anything you basically work within limits. Sounds like too much of a restriction to me. (Transitting Uranus is in Pisces and I am a Pisces) .

I did cancel a get together with someone today prior to even drawing the card because I thought I would be rushed. As I look back on my decision- it was probably just what I should have not done. That situation would have provided the humour that is depicted by the card.

Aries stands for courage and initiation. Saturn rules limitations but also discipline. When these two are together, I think of internal and external issues- a tug of war between “shoulds” and “should nots”. In my birth chart, my Mars is in Aries. The difference between Saturn and Mars is that Saturn will always think before acting, and Mars will burst out in action and then think about it. Between the two, Mars in Aries is more of a risk taker and more of a pioneer.

If you look back in history, if measured risks where taken, then we would have had a great delay in the following inventions such as telephone, airplanes, electricity, vehicles to mention a few.

OK, back to the card, the guidance for me personally is to think before acting.

As I write this, I can feel the surge of energy (Mars in Aries) building up to carry me through the day. I need to tap into the Saturn energy- sometimes in life, external circumstances slow us down whether we like it or not. I anticipate delays, and waiting lines in the Deli/Bake shop-that will slow the Mars down for sure. LOL

Reading continued

Position #8- Venus in Virgo card. This position rules shared resources, health/work of siblings. Death or end of things. The card’s meaning is that I need to be very selective using my powers of discrimination. A compete makeover in all things under the ruler-ship of position #8. If it also signifies siblings, then there could be a love affair requiring discrimination around a sibling. A warning to be cautious about decisions regarding my resources or end of matters.

Position #9- Moon in Sagittarius card. Long distance travel, philosophy, publishing. law, education or foreign cultures comes under this position. Jupiter rules position #9 naturally, so there is a double intensity to this placement. It shows that a long trip is immediate or a visit from someone from a distance. Planning a holiday. Even being contacted by someone from my past(moon)…I will be optimistic about an opportunity that involved educational/philosophical pursuits and even publishing.

Aug 13/07- over and above what I wrote in the comments section. The long trip was me going to the west coast and attending a convention.

Position #10- Moon in Pisces card. This position reflects career, profession, life direction, achievements and standing in community. Very interesting, I could develop a new service or product that will fill public’s tastes or general needs. Talent in sensing what the public mood is and to service that mood. In my natal chart by birth I have my moon in the 10th position. This is getting rather eerie because the layout is giving me information that I already know to be true.

Aug 13/07- the new product is has been delayed and should be reading sometime in October-November 07.

Position #11- Mars in Gemini card. Under ruler-ship in this spot is friendships, groups of people, hopes, dreams, causes, humanitarian issues. The meanings are a letter with regret involving one of the above. A possible argument or fight over the written word. There seems to be a quick decision(gemini) that I will make, more than likely fueled by anger(mars). I sense that I will make a decision in haste possibly because of or due to a friendship.

Interesting, there was a heating discussion with a Gemini-May 20 and it involved causes etc.

Aug 13/07- there have been many heated discussion particularly when a family member took ill in Oct ’06.
Position #12- Mars in Taurus card. This position is indicative of all that is hidden. Long term illnesses. Large insitutions (hospitals, jails, libraries etc). Karma and the collective unconsciousness. Having a mars(the drive) related card in this spot means I will defending something I value under this position. Not clear yet…starting up a business that relates to all that is hidden/unconsciousness. Fighting off health related issues..taken a step further -visiting someone in large institution.

Aug 13/07 -the large institution were hospitals related to health issues. Not sure what I was defending but it could be that I was adamant about the proper medical attention for a family member when an incorrect diagnosis was given.

Seaqueen’s reading using Sun oracle cards

I shuffled the cards and lay them out in a circle of 12, starting at the far left for card #1.

I had several questions on my mind as I was shuffling and basically just wanted a general summary.

Position#1- Mercury in Aries card. This is too funny because in my natal chart I have Mercury in Aries. This card is suppose to tell me what my current frame of mind is and immediate circumstances. I am being true to my core personality as I am somewhat of a restless person, with several projects on the go at all times. Interestingly, this card shows that I am doing lots of writing (no kidding, lol), possible contact with the media. There is a warning within the card in this position, that I am prone to being challenging and argumentative. Since Aries rules the head, and position #1 can show the health-issues of insomnia would fit perfectly because Mercury rules thoughts.

Position#2- Moon in Virgo. This position will describe possessions, talents and physical abilities. LOLOLOL…so true- I have to start tidying up as in health regime and day-to-day procedures. Makes sense, what do you expect if Mercury in Aries is in the first position.

Position#3- Saturn in Cancer. This position is all about communication, short journeys, mental energy/telepathy. The way I want to interpret this is that I do a lot of charity work, as in no financial re-numeration..information presented on this blog takes time and energy and it given freely and that is what charity is.

Position#4- Sun in Cancer. Family, home, father or mother, gardens and solutions are represented in this position. The card expresses that there is parental contact and family traditions that I am exposed to. It also indicates reunions. It means that I have a strong need to collect and have difficulty getting rid of things. Good grief, it means I have set roots.

Positions#5-Sun in Gemini. Children-usually first born, love, creativity, gambling, hobbies, recreation, sports come under position #5. The card I chose means that in reference to children on of them may have a change in job or at least working at two jobs at once. Stretching this a little further a job in a recreational/sports atmosphere. Contact with brothers or sisters would come up as mercury rules that…and several trips surrounding that. Not sure if it my sibling or my children. Gemini would mean lots of communication as well.

Aug 13/07- the part of one of my children changing jobs came true about 13 months after this reading. Much communication in this new job.

Position#6- Jupiter in Aquarius-love this card already…looks promising. In this position ruling everyday life/work, health and service to others there is an indication that I will come up with some unique, unusual way to solve my problems. Could expand into some friendships or group connections I am not aware of just yet.

Aug 13/07 – actually this part of the reading is happening right about now- group connections etc. as well as what I wrote in the comments.

Position#7- Moon in Cancer. This position describes the partner, husband/wife, contracts, marriage agreements, certain relatives, the second born child. Hmm, don’t know if I like the meaning of that card-I will be involved in a situation where a family member or close friend will need a sympathetic ear. Development of psychic talents etc. One step further for the second born can foretell about a new friend.

Aug 13/07- another ditto! Sympathetic ear many times. Second child did meet a new friend…..and now more than friends- relationship partners.

Astrology cards

Not only did I buy the Shamanic CD but I also bought a duo book and cards set. The Oracle of the radiant Sun includes a 144 page guidebook and 84 esthetically pleasing astrology cards with symbols and pictures. Shuffling these cards you can do readings forecasting the year to come or answer specific questions. I haven’t tried them yet but will tonight. The set retails for $29.95, but of course I got them on sale as I would not purchase them at that price. They are a nice addition to my vast collection already.

dahhh- you already had that deck.
