Small Lenormand 7 clubs #23

7 Clubs- MOUSE-#23

In this particular Lenormand style deck the MOUSE card is labelled as positive because it has a pink background (top center).  The Le Petit Jeu Lenormand deck is very different from the rest of the cards on the market.

The traditional meaning of this cards is small profit or success. The negative aspect of it depicts worries and near successes.

The more popular interpretation of the MOUSE is loss in smaller amounts.  This card means step by step and does not indicate leaps.  There is a slow process as in deterioration or break down.  Despite all the not so positive connotations there is an eventual result – it can be viewed as both negative or positive.

For example, if someone is suffering through a situation or with a person and the entire process comes to an end there is a sigh relief even if it is a death.

The MOUSE is known to represent a vitamin deficiency and when coupled with the BEAR it will be calcium.

Continuing with the Astro-Mythological story ………

Lower left – an oven encasing a fire

Lower center – I’m not positive on the flower, looks like roses.

Lower right – an artist holding a tool of the trade in his left hand

Upper main –  Pan depicted by the goat is heading towards the sky while surrounded by clouds.  The man climbing the rocks could be Zeus (possibly his father) after he was victorious in his battle against Typhon.  Click on the link for more background.

The goat is the astrological symbolism of Capricorn as well, ruling the 10th house of career and ambition.

The images in this card really have nothing to do with the meaning of the Mouse.

The feeling I get from the imagery is craftiness and resourcefulness

And we all know that a mouse generally does not stay hungry for long.  When you are trying to determine how the MOUSE card influences the cards beside it, pay attention to the nature of the cards which lie beside the MOUSE.  Do the cards represent love, work, health,  etc.  Next, determine if you think the MOUSE’s influence is positive or negative.  It’s best not to jump to “traditional conclusions” and remember to allow your imagination to guide you.

Ace of Hearts- The Man

The last Ace of the series belonging to the Le Petit Jeu Lenormand.

#28. Ace of Hearts-The Man. This card is the male getting the reading. It will also represent the special man in a woman’s life. Depending on which layout you are using or where the Man (gentleman) falls within the spread, it can portend a future meeting with someone totally new. ————-> Continue reading

Ace of Diamonds- the Sun

#31 Ace of Diamonds- The Sun.

Our scene shows Mercury picking up a letter from Harpocrates who coincidentally is the transformed Egyptian new born Sun, a child called Horus. Horus’s parents are Isis and Osiris. Now this is where it gets confusing because Horus could also be the man with the falcon’s head whose left eye was injured during his fight with his uncle Seth who murdered Osiris, his father? And this make Horus the brother of Anubis. ———> Continue reading

Ace of clubs- the Ring

This post will feature one of the  4 aces belonging to the Lenormand Astro Mythological cards ( Le Petit Jeu Lenormand 37 deck) which is the smaller version of the Le Grand Jeu de Mlle Lenormand 54 deck.  The imagery is identical with a few differences such as complimentary meanings are left out as well.  There is a letter of the alphabet in the upper right hand corner instead of the name of the card.  —-> Continue reading

Petit Lenormand

Block of 9 layout using the Petit Lenormand.  B.P. Grimand © 1976

The block of 9 layout is quite diverse.  You can designate many meanings to the rows and columns.  I find this deck fantastic to work with and only wish I remember all the characters in the Mythology depicted in the cards.

Each card has a standard playing card inset in the top left hand corner. Here lies the general meaning and the number of the card.  Also, 2 special meanings -one positive & one negative and this applies to it’s combination with the lady or gentleman.  There is a unique flower/plant in the lower half of all the cards. Apparently Madame Lenormand was very knowledgeable in botany .  There  are several prophetic scenes on the lower half of each card (about 3/4 of it) which are part of the Grand Lenormand deck (54 cards). The cards are divided into two shadings.  The pink is a beneficial card and the white is more negative.

The card representing the lady (center) is white.  Interestingly the meaning is also negative in nature and I think this is due to the influence of the Ace of Spades.   This is the only deck that is somewhat in keeping with some of the traditional meaning of the standard playing (skat) cards and many of the Tarot minors.

The  writing on these cards is so tiny I can hardly make out what is written let alone read the French.

THE LAYOUT- when you first look at the image above you will notice a predominance of pink which means the influences tend to be more positive in nature.  The image(s) are not very clear because in order for them to fit into this space I had to downsize the entire picture.

Let’s pretend………… Continue reading

Petit Lenormand by Grimaud-#19 tower

I was drawn to the Petit Lenormand deck consisting of 36 cards plus 1 card with an image of Mlle Lenormand. In the is deck the cards with the white background are negative- there are 16 of them. Most of the diamonds, 1 club and all the spades. The cards with the pink background are good or positive influences- there are 20 of them. Most of the clubs, some diamonds, no spades and all the hearts. There are 16 white/negative cardsMost of the diamonds6 of diamonds, 2. clover7 of diamonds, 12. birds8 of diamonds, 33. key9 of diamonds, 8. coffinJack of diamonds, 10. scytheQueen of diamonds, 22. pathOne Club- 6 of clubs, 36. crossAll the spadesAce, 29. ladyKing, 30. lilyQueen, 9. bouquetJack, 13. child10, 3. ship9, 35. anchor8. 20. garden7. 27. letter6, 19. tower

I selected card #19, the tower.petit-tower.jpgThis is the 6 of spades.

I don’t know a heck of a lot about all the varieties of flowers in the world and I read somewhere the Madame was quite versed with all the species that she depicts on her Grand & Petit Jeu de Mlle Lenormand by Grimaud. It is certainly evident that there are scenes from the 1700′s which will capture the world from her perspective. #8 The Coffin

MYSTICAL LENORMAND deck

and PETIT LENORMAND by B.P. Grimaud (Made in France, 1976)

coffin.jpg

The Mystical Lenormand #8 card COFFIN is rich in symbolism. In the upper right hand corner you will see the Roman Numeral VIII which represents the 8th house (Scorpio) in the Astrological wheel. The 8th house deals with death & endings as well as numerous other topics. The portrayal of the Coffin is stunning and not spooky at all. It has a feel of eloquence and honor to it. The two cobras on each side at the bottom of the cards suggest renewal as well. The winged scarab is a talisman that was used by the Egyptians during funeral rights- dying with dignity.

The Petit Lenormand is quite picturesque in that the 9 of diamonds is on the top left hand corner, the number 8 le cercueil, the coffin in the upper right corner of the card as well as several scenes in the bottom of on the remainder of the card. It is depicted as a negative card because in the Petit Lenormand by B..P. Grimaud, pink represents good and white represents bad or negative. The meaning written on the card states “delay, hindrances, worries, action, quarrel, temporary drawback, loss, seperation (which is misspelled)”.

I have noticed that in this Petit Lenormand deck, published in 1976 the meanings reflect the standard cards more than the common pictorial cards. Each of these 36 cards also has a different flower on the bottom of the card in the center, which I do not have extensive knowledge of.

What does the Coffin card mean in a layout?

-it is the announcement of an ending
-something is finished
-time to say good-bye
-can be health related in a negative way
-sealing up
-no use beating a dead horse
-early stages of re-birthing into another direction
-let it go

In combination.
coffin + anchor = possible illness that has set in on a serious level
coffin + fox = lack of work, taking a leave a absence, job position being re-categorized
coffin + park = hospital, medical facility
coffin + sun = a good recovery, a healing, a reunion

lady+ coffin + gentleman + scythe = it’s a dead end connection which will be terminated suddenly
coffin + heart + sun = don’t lose hope because it can work out
rider + coffin + sun = news which was appeared negative at first, is a blessing in disguise
