Queen of Hearts, Stork #17.
The Stork card is traditionally associated with “change”. It can represent a female (Queen of Cups) that would be a female member of the family or a dear friend. The obvious meaning of pregnancy or birth is also a mainstream meaning.
Change means transformation. What was, what is and what will be. The Stork is a trigger card. It brings change because of the card preceding it, either behind it or above it.
This may sound confusing but it isn’t. When a card followings the STORK card it indicates the outcome or result of the change. It is like reading a sentence and I’ll give a brief example to demonstrate this.
LETTER + STORK + SCYTHE
Information or news was received that created changes that produced
a sudden decision or removal of a situation.
This is only one meaning using the minimum key words. Another simple conclusion is that you were notified of a woman’s rather quick departure.
Within this card is anxiety. It is the tip of the iceburg. The card does not contain a positive or negative influence all by itself, it is neutral. It is best not to get carried away when change happens unless of course it is an emergency and even then you should count to 10.
Usually change is felt before it happens unless it is a random act. All changes affect other things as well, it has a domino effect. If I change my mind and cancel a visit then the person I was to visit experiences the change because they will make other plans which in turn may involve other people who had no plans to begin with.
When we change a habit many of the conditions surrounding that habit needs to change as well. If we change our mood and get grumpy all of a sudden then that low, dense energy encompasses those around us. It’s tough to stay in a good mood when the other person is not. It’s easier to stay in a bad mood because it is like a comfortable pair of shoes- you are used to it. Unfortunately many people do not go around chirping like cheery birds all the time.
Another way to look at the Stork card is the migration of energy. It is not stagnant. Wherever the Stork card falls that situation or person is in the midst of this movement of energy. The outcome can be happy or sad it all depends on what’s in the cards within the neighborhood of the Stork.
The Stork and the Dog together can point to friendship changes. If the Scythe precedes the Stork then there is a pending break up. If the cards were Dog, Stork, Scythe then there would be a break up because of a friendship. There is a difference.
Can you believe it, my mom told me the stork brought me. No wonder I feared big bird on Sesame Street, ha-ha.
