Lenormand Cards question from Comments section

hello,

I have a question regarding to this card.I did a spread asking “Is X the right partner for me?”.I decided to choose only 3 cards,no representative card and I had this combination:

Man+ Ring+ Scythe

While I was suffling the cards The Key jumped out.

The Key represents wishes fulfilled,success,solution that is in the querent’s hand.

The Ring is the dominant card in this spread and represents relationship,commitment even marriage.

Man+ Ring= a man is involved in a relationship or a commitment.As I know this man isn’t married so I take this combination as being the relationship.

Ring + Scythe- a connection or relationship happens unexpected.A surprising contract/marriage.

I wonder if I interpreted correctly this spread.

Man + Ring + Scythe

In answering a very important question such as, “Is X the right partner for me?” using a 3 card Lenormand  layout may not  be sufficient to gain all the details around formulating the answer.

With the SCYTHE card falling last the answer is not promising.  This card almost always depicts endings or abrupt conclusions to any situation. 

When taken with the information you provided, yes, MAN + RING does strongly suggest a commitment of sorts, however it is not long lasting. I think the fact that the KEY card fell out it indicates the answer is not as simple as it appears.  We can safely assume there will be news of a break up surrounding this MAN in the future months.  Also, the KEY will bring news to you which will help you to re-evaluate any thoughts of this MAN being the right partner for you. 

Listen to what is being said about this MAN & you will almost certainly find out what your chances  for a relationship.  I would suggest using a  Layout with more cards to gain extra information.

“Is X the right partner for me?”

The cards do not answer this question directly, however, they do not rule out the possibility of future connections with the MAN, perhaps on a more friendly level at first. The KEY card is revealing that not all is known about the “rightness” of this male.  

You may find out he is not so right, after all.

Lenormand #27 Letter card

27. LETTER – Covers a vast amount of areas –the written word. Easy enough to figure out by looking at the nearby cards. News, announcements, memos etc. Coupled with the BIRDS card juicy gossip. With the PARK card an invitation to a gathering or party. Near the CROSS card- disturbing news. When the SCYTHE & COFFIN cards are involved – obituary.

I think the Letter card is the only one in the deck I have not detailed.  Once I finish this post I will add the link to the list of Lenormand meanings situated underneath the header.

Communication is the basis of this card.  These days it is mostly in electronic form especially when the BIRDS card is next to it.  The BIRDS card also implies hen-talk.  Of course, when coupled with the SHIP card it would suggest correspondence from overseas like a postcard or actual written letter (something which is slowly disappearing).

As with most of the Lenormand cards combinations will reveal what type of communication is coming.  News arrives via telephone/mobile as well and I think that text messaging is in keeping with the theme of the LETTER card.

I think this card is easy to interpret when combining with others.  When you add the TOWER card it can point to legal documentation such as  job descriptions, professional appointments, agreements and so on.

The envelope in the image is sealed.  It is not clear what the information is.  It’s important not to confuse it with the meanings given to the BOOK card.  I would categorize the LETTER as neutral energy.  

When I see the LETTER card falling in the near future spots it tells me I will learn of something which is either completely new or an expansion of some situation.  Usually I hear an outcome or result of a circumstance. 

The LETTER card is a reminder to schedule an appointment with a health practitioner when next to the TREE card.

Lenormand Sun card’s power is always welcome.

When the SUN appears in a reading, especially when it follows a number of challenging cards this suggests the outcome will be a promising result.  This card is always a joy to have in a layout.  The only time it may not be so positive is when the SCYTHE follows it.  The reason for this is because the scythe ends whatever situation is occurring, thus, the end of happiness -it will be short term.

As a personality card, it will describe the person as being honest with a positive outlook on life.

In work related questions it can suggests connections to the travel industry or working in an environment that is not emotionally toxic.

When travel questions are asked the SUN could indicate locations near the equator & if this is not so then the trip will be most enjoyable no matter where you go.

Questions about well-being suggest the strength and vitality to overcome certain maladies. Other factors need to be considered.  If more serious conditions surround the person look for the TREE card and see what cards surround it.  

In the company of minor setback cards, the SUN will eliminate or lesson some of the hardships or delays.  This card reminds you to remain open these little tests of faith and to know that they are not as bad as they seem.  One must use common sense to determine the degree of seriousness around problems or circumstances.  

A good accompanying card with the Sun card would be #9 Bouquet/Flowers (celebration).

Lenormand #26 The Book

A book is a source of information and knowledge.  It can provide instructions.

The book  contains unknown data which might be hard to understand.  The information inside the book is also an explanation. You can only open the book one way- the card facing the open side of the book will be the card that contains more descriptions of the nature of the information.

Some Lenormand decks have an open book on a table or on a pedestal. In essence, you still need to read what is inside those pages. When you already know what’s in the book- mum’s the word in some cases.

I think that most people do not completely tell what is really on their minds for whatever reason. And then again, you have heard the expression, s/he is like an open book.

People learn from books as well, school/study is another meanings of the book card.

When beside the child card #13 it does suggest a kid in school. Law books contain the template of societal boundaries of right and wrong.

When next to the tower card #19 the indication can be a legal case or court house. And it can also mean library or university, college or other educational institution.

When the scythe card follows the Book you will most likely never find out the answer.  The coffin card provides more hope than the scythe.

A dictionary, the bible, cookbook, diary……many meanings to think about.

Another view to keep in mind is that known data is also contained within the pages of the book and sometimes it is not to be shared. Confidential information that is private like a secret or not ready to be exposed. Divulging this data can be triggered by the snake and fox cards, as they tend to have an undermining characteristic.

Each and every card of the Lenormand type decks is an island unto itself, first and foremost, remember the core meanings.  They are simple.

Lots of the cards are influenced by their adjoining connections. The deck is divided into positive, negative and neutral cards.  The book is neutral.

Here’s another way to look at the combinations of the Book card. We all know the traditional and common but let’s look differently at these Lenormand cards.
