Even though I use the multi-level meanings of these cards at different times I get the same feeling from the FOX card as I do with SNAKE.

I’ll use an example taken from a Lenormand full board reading which you can see below.

FOX is behind the LADY and SNAKE is above her.  Do you suppose she is surrounded by some deception involving the GENTLEMAN who is ahead of her in the near future spot?

Obviously the RIDER has delivered some news (LETTER) in the very recent past to this LADY.  This event is on the LADY’s mind at the current time. You can gather that a decision was involved (PATH) which turned out to be somewhat underhanded.  Whatever happened in the past the appearance of FOX and SNAKE was not an enjoyable experience with the LADY.

It looks like someone is lying to the LADY or she found out about an sneaky motive?  Maybe she is lying to herself and pretending these circumstances don’t exist.  Is the LADY playing a mind game with the GENTLEMAN?

There are lots of angles to these cards.  Interestingly, the CLOVER sits above the GENTLEMAN.  Could he have had a brief temptation with the SNAKE female?  It is highly possible but the fact that CLOVER is a card of speed it would be just a passing thing, like a few hours conversation in a bar or on the telephone.

It is difficult to determine any outcome of this situation with just the cards I have shown but what lead up to this situation can be estimated.

This LADY will talk to the GENTLEMAN or see him in person within a very short time because these two cards are side by side.  What they will discuss will be the outcome of this previous/current situation.

Here are all the cards in the two columns which the LADY and GENTLEMAN appear in. Looks like there might be a parting of ways (TOWER)  or dissolving of the friendship (DOG) which the LADY is not fully aware (BOOK) of at the time.  Her hopes and wishes (STARS)  surrounding the GENTLEMAN will bring her much disappointment.

14. FOX- WILL MAKE A WRONG DECISION. WITH HEART- NOT BEST CHOICE IN SELECTION OF A LOVER. WITH GENTLEMAN- HUSBAND/BOYFRIEND/SIGNIFICANT OTHER IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

Petit Lenormand by Grimaud-#19 tower

I was drawn to the Petit Lenormand deck consisting of 36 cards plus 1 card with an image of Mlle Lenormand.In the is deck the cards with the white background are negative- there are 16 of them. Most of the diamonds, 1 club and all the spades. The cards with the pink background are good or positive influences- there are 20 of them. I selected card #19, the tower.This is the 6 of spades.

I don’t know a heck of a lot about all the varieties of flowers in the world and I read somewhere the Madame was quite versed with all the species that she depicts on her Grand & Petit Jeu de Mlle Lenormand by Grimaud.It is certainly evident that there are scenes from the 1700′s which will capture the world from her perspective.

#19 tower – Lenormand

The Tower card has neutral to negative energy.A number of traditional meanings have been assigned to it. One of the meanings is separation or a parting of ways. The other meaning is a very tall structure or building, even a person of great height.

When this card lays prominently in a reading it will indicate some challenges coming up that will deplete the energy of the person who is getting the reading done.

If it falls right next to the Lady or Gentleman cards, there is a warning of spending too much time alone and basically withdrawing from social activities. In some cases it will suggest a person who has just separated from another person or situation.

Another traditional meaning is- from the past. It can represent an ex husband as it is a male energy card.

Some simple combinations

• with the Letter, a legal or formal notification
• with the Cross, traumatizing split up
• with the Birds, legal frets or worries
• with the Mountain, monumental obstruction to a goal
• with the Scythe, no reconciliation possible, the end for sure
• with the House, a high rise hotel, court house

When I see the Tower in my layout I think of ego, unapproachable, unattainable. I try not to compare this card to the Tarot – not always easy because that is where my “rooting” comes from. I tend to read from my “gut feelings” and that is why I don’t stick rigidly to any meanings.

I find that it’s one thing to write about the cards & it is another thing to perform a reading with an audience.

You can be the greatest writer about cards or other specialities but that does not mean that you can perform & act according to your words. Essentially, we take on a different personae when we put on the hat of card diviner- we have to, for it is something greater than our personality/ego that will deliver the message.
