Simple Trigger Layout

Reading interpretation for Female E. using the French Cartomancy deck. The featured spread is the Simple Trigger layout.

TRIGGER ROW: COFFIN. LADY. HEART. LILY.

Female E. is represented by the LADY. In the past column we find the COFFIN suggesting some sort of ending or new direction involving a male -FISH. The past column does show optimism regarding this new direction which is depicted by the SUN card.

In the now column the GENTLEMAN is directly above the LADY. This means the male is very much on her mind. She is thinking about him quite profoundly. He in turn is worried about money (FISH) and some challenges (MOUNTAIN) which are before him. Beneath the LADY lies the WHIP card. This card foretells some disagreement coming or lack of clarity in communication.

Directly in front of the LADY is the HEART card falling in the immediate column. The female is looking right at this card. Her emotions are tied with this male (GENTLEMAN) and she will be a little suspicious (SNAKE) in the near future. The obstacles suggested by the MOUNTAIN card will be in the relationship (HEART). The female feels something is not right (SNAKE). It could be another female (SNAKE) involved.

By the time Female E’s birthday rolls around this situation should be resolved.  The LILY card promises that harmony will be restored.  The SCYTHE in the soon column suggests the aggravations of the MOUNTAIN card will cease. The CLOVER depicts a fast solution.

The overall important card in the Trigger Layout is the LILY card. It is positive. The Layout ends in the CLOVER card which suggests whatever dilemma is going on now it should be concluded before Female E’s birthday.

In the previous post I detailed some possible meanings for the Lenormand cards illustrated in the above image.  I started thinking about the FOX card again today as I was preparing a post on my other blog.

When combining the PATH with FOX a wrong decision may have been made by the LADY based on some information or news she received.

This news (LETTER) could have been misleading (SNAKE) or a corrupted version. As the result the LADY made up her mind in regards to the GENTLEMAN.

The CLOVER would suggest the LADY & GENTLEMAN engaged in the conversation and the situation dissolved quickly.  This does not rule out the fact they may break up (TOWER) over some other situation which could materialize over the weeks to come.

Even though I use the multi-level meanings of these cards at different times I get the same feeling from the FOX card as I do with SNAKE.

I’ll use an example taken from a Lenormand full board reading which you can see below.

FOX is behind the LADY and SNAKE is above her.  Do you suppose she is surrounded by some deception involving the GENTLEMAN who is ahead of her in the near future spot?

Obviously the RIDER has delivered some news (LETTER) in the very recent past to this LADY.  This event is on the LADY’s mind at the current time. You can gather that a decision was involved (PATH) which turned out to be somewhat underhanded.  Whatever happened in the past the appearance of FOX and SNAKE was not an enjoyable experience with the LADY.

It looks like someone is lying to the LADY or she found out about an sneaky motive?  Maybe she is lying to herself and pretending these circumstances don’t exist.  Is the LADY playing a mind game with the GENTLEMAN?

There are lots of angles to these cards.  Interestingly, the CLOVER sits above the GENTLEMAN.  Could he have had a brief temptation with the SNAKE female?  It is highly possible but the fact that CLOVER is a card of speed it would be just a passing thing, like a few hours conversation in a bar or on the telephone.

It is difficult to determine any outcome of this situation with just the cards I have shown but what lead up to this situation can be estimated.

This LADY will talk to the GENTLEMAN or see him in person within a very short time because these two cards are side by side.  What they will discuss will be the outcome of this previous/current situation.

Here are all the cards in the two columns which the LADY and GENTLEMAN appear in. Looks like there might be a parting of ways (TOWER)  or dissolving of the friendship (DOG) which the LADY is not fully aware (BOOK) of at the time.  Her hopes and wishes (STARS)  surrounding the GENTLEMAN will bring her much disappointment.

Is there trouble in your relationship?

I was looking at this Lenormand duo and thought I’d write a post about the cards.  Many times I just pick up one or two cards and meditate on them to see if I get a different level to the cards.  It’s important to clear your mind of all the meanings you have learned.  A task which is not so easy when you look at the combination illustrated in the above image.

Let’s suppose you are thinking about a relationship which you are involved in and wonder if the other person is true to you.

The cards surrounding the HEART card in a layout will give you clues as to the nature of your romantic life.  Depending which deck you are using the Jack of Hearts has a long time traditional association with matters connected to the heart.  Love.  Let’s analyze these cards from a female perspective. If you are not a female which fits the hair coloring description of the Queen/Dame of Clubs you could be seeing your competition.  If you do have darker hair it will still be the other woman because you are represented by the LADY card in the reading.

As you know the SNAKE card is linked to treachery usually on an emotional level.   Many Readers of the Lenormand cards see the SNAKE to represent high intelligence and wisdom.

In the duo I selected the snake in the image is going for the heart.  In other words the influence is mighty strong and the temptation very real.  Quite possibly something has already occurred involving another woman. Maybe there is a physical attraction which could turn into an affair or a night of experimentation.

Your love department  is jeopardized.

No your significant other is not true to you when based on these two cards. I’m not saying something is going on (yet) but the thoughts are there.  If you think of doing it you might as well.  The thoughts are not true.  In a way that is deception even if nothing physical has happened. There is a serious situation which could interfere with your relationship.  In such cases it’s best not to hang on too tightly or be suspicious because it’ll just rip you apart.  Let it go if you can.  These types of situations have a way of playing out.

A profound temptation is lurking around the person you care about.  Many times we neglect our partners or give them mixed messages that we are no longer as interested in them. Other people cross their paths and give them what you are withholding even if it is unintentional.

OTHER WAYS TO READ THESE TWO CARDS

HEART and SNAKE can be a couple in a relationship.  It could represent you and the person you are asking about.  Jack of Hearts is more romantically involved than the Queen of Clubs. She would have more control of her emotions and could be the aggressor in this relationship. All he wants is a commitment from her but she cannot or does not want to give it to him.  He puts her on a pedestal and would do anything for her.  She pulls at his heart strings and usually gets her way even if he resists at first. She can outsmart him. For him, romance with her is uncertain.  He becomes insecure and unsure of what to do. He could pull back or he could look elsewhere but she has a close eye on him (snake in position to attack the heart in image).

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

Try to reassure the one you love.  A few kind words. A telephone call telling them you really do appreciate them. Plan a surprise to reactivate some of those love flames which glowed between the two of you. Maybe it’s not too late.

DAY 9

One of the meanings of SNAKE is betrayal. I felt betrayed today by the doctors because they are offering treatments on one hand & bursting the bubble of faith on the other hand.  Most importantly these people are betraying my father.  It’s not about what they say… it’s about what they don’t say.  It could be this it could be that.

Being the confrontational person I am (moon in scorpio) I have a need to get to the bottom of things. I asked some hard questions about treatments and meds being given.   I could almost see certain people coiling up like a snake when they spoke to me.  I could see the forked tongues wagging much like a snake.

I feel some hasty information was given in response to my questions merely to pacifying me.

SNAKE definitely turned out to be verbal seduction for the sake of hiding the venomous truth which I could see in the eyes of those who spoke to me. Don’t get me wrong I certainly appreciate all the wonderful service from those who are servants of the medical profession.

At the same token there are Angels who take on a role to deliver

information you are suppose to hear.

DAY 9 – tomorrow’s guidance

SNAKE

My first impression when I drew the SNAKE card was that it was not coiled up looking right at me.  I didn’t sense any danger or warning signals.  Knowing there are some negative connotations with this card when using traditional meanings I don’t always put too much weight on them.  In many cases the SNAKE does predict some falsehood or wrong directions in situations or around people.  You need to figure this out yourself when merging other cards with SNAKE.

The SNAKE expects respect and in turn will offer her wisdom.  Is this a new person being called in on my father’s case? If you do not respect SNAKE’s power then you will experience the betrayal, jealousy and deception associated with this card.

As I meditate on this card further I get a choking feeling.  A type of smothering – gasping for air.  Is the snake ready to attack?   I have learned through my experiences with the Pages of Shustah to look at the image and see if there are some changes in any part of the picture.  This can be done with Titania’s Lenormand deck quite nicely.

SNAKE has the common associated meaning of Intestines.

SNAKE #7 Queen of Clubs

As a woman she is older, a relative, a daughter, a girlfriend. The snake card can also suggest that another female is after your man. It can describe your significant other as being a snake in the grass.
In a man’s layout she can be a femme fatale, seductress, sexual magnet, sister-in-law, co-worker, even the bosses wife.

The snake has a negative stigma to it. In some societies though, it is respected. Can suggest wisdom, kundalini (sexual energy), intelligence, cleverness, “smart ass”, deception, sexual treason (affair), back stabbing, undermining, corrupt, seething, venom-tongued, evasive, sneaky, suspicion, jealousy, renewal(on a spiritual level-shedding you old skin)

A snake never attacks unless it senses it is endangered. Without limbs it relies on smell, and sensing energy of another being or creature. A snake won’t back down once it is provoked -and usually will strike to kill. It won’t attack you to scare you, it’s looking to take you out- natural instinct.

When the snake card shows up near your card, (28 or 29) take a good look at what is around her. You will be directed affected by her appearance. Assuming that #7 does not represent a woman, then you need to focus on what is in imminent danger. Is it a romantic or work situation?

Where you thinking about your boyfriend, husband or lover….even male friend. Yes, there is a third person involved, to what degree will be expanded by the joining cards. Several months ago I did a reading for a young lady, and her combination included the snake + heart + gentleman. I sensed there was another woman involved that would be detrimental to her current relationship of that time. There were other cards that re-enforced the potential problem coming up. Unfortunately, that part of the reading materialized for the young lady….her husband did leave her for another woman.

You have to be really careful when predicting such things, and I relayed the information in a delicate way-not exactly to the point of saying your husband will leave you but the fact that there is a female involved & that was creating difficulties. When a female seeker of cards is not aware her man is seeing someone else, it could shatter her being told that because if she is in a fragile state to begin with not knowing why she is having “relationship” problems, being blunt about it is not helping her. There are ways to handle such combinations, and besides …..you could have neglected to look further into the reading to see if there is a resolution or reconciliation.

Now on the other hand, if you seeker of cards is a male, the snake card can forewarn of a charming female coming into his life -maybe she is jealous the male has a steady relationship and want to break them up. People do strange things when they feel unloved and lack self-confidence.

Always keeping in mind the surrounding cards -look for a theme, work/love/money. The snake card influences only cards she touches. I have seen this card around the heart #24 lots of times- and it does represent suspicion as well- you suspect because you don’t trust.

I try and look at the snake card in a positive light but to tell you the truth I cringe when it falls beside my card. More times than not, it represents my daughter and often it reflects my intellectul capacity in some upcoming situation.

In romantic questions here are some suggestions.

+whip=heated jealousy with arguments

+tower=very tall woman

+stars= a course or workshop in a spiritual field, healing touch/astrology

+coffin= death of an older woman or relative. But you need other cards to confirm this such as the cross, scythe, mountain. Your enemy vanishes.
