question about the Heart Layout (Lenormand cards)

Hi there, I have a question about the Heart Layout. What does it mean when you get “The Book” card for No.5-Outcome. The other cards are “the bear” over the lady’s card, “the tree” below. “The house” over the gentlemen’s card, and “the paths” below. I am a beginner and have difficulties interpreting the cards. The spread is for a female, a friend of mine:). Thanks in advance!

THE HEART LAYOUT

A SHORT INTERPRETATION OF THE LENORMAND CARDS IN THE HEART LAYOUT

In a previous post when I introduced this layout position #1 stated “on his mind” because the reading was for a male. In this example from the comments section the layout involves a female thus the change to “on her mind” in the first column. I don’t have much background information about the Lady in question so I will go ahead and briefly summarize just the cards.

I am using the Mlle Lenormand Cartomancy deck 19115 which can be purchased from PIATNIK.

ON HER MIND: BEAR

The Lady is thinking about someone who has a powerful influence in her life. It appears her thoughts are very strong about a certain male. Traditionally, the Bear card represents an older man and many times this card suggest money issues.

WHAT SHE FACES: TREE

Coupled with the Bear card I have to wonder if there is an issue involving a male’s general well-being. Often the Tree card brings to surface minor setbacks.  Since this layout deals with relationships I want to read the Tree card as other people’s involvement in this situation which could be temporarily hindering the Lady’s progress.

ON HIS MIND: HOUSE

The Gentleman in question is thinking about his family or things pertaining to his home. When the House card is coupled with the Gentleman the suggestion is close bonds to family members.

WHAT HE FACES: PATH

Perhaps the Gentleman is involved in a decision involving a member of his family or someone close to him. He is facing a choice. I do see a decision coming because as you can see with the Outcome card the Book will reveal something more about the entire situation.

OUTCOME: BOOK

When you get the Book as an outcome card  especially if the open side of the book faces one of the significator cards such as Gentleman or Lady there will be a resolution soon.

Studying the cards in the layout and keeping in mind the Lady is probably wondering about the future of a relationship with the Gentleman she will gain knowledge within a short time.  There are no detrimental cards in this layout. I think there are extenuating factors involved which would affect “this relationship” and  I do see these factors as an integral part of the Gentleman’s life.

The Book faces away from the Lady. I want to read this combination to mean that she will be of great assistance to the Gentleman in his process of decision making.  The reason I am reading the Book in this manner is because this card joins the Lady and Gentleman. Looking at this trio & keeping in mind there are no negative cards the analysis leans towards a more positive outcome.

14. FOX- WILL MAKE A WRONG DECISION. WITH HEART- NOT BEST CHOICE IN SELECTION OF A LOVER. WITH GENTLEMAN- HUSBAND/BOYFRIEND/SIGNIFICANT OTHER IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

HOUSE/PATH

Today’s situation did involve family.  The female I mentioned turned out to be my daughter who is fair haired like the Queen of Diamonds associated with the PATH card.

The King of Hearts would be my dad if I were to follow the common meaning of the HOUSE card.  I already know my father is involved. This card can represent a very caring and compassionate man who may not be a family member – like a doctor.

Yes, a decision was made today as indicated by the PATH card.  I also want to read PATH to represent a situation which presents itself as a ‘fork in the road’, namely at the crossroads.  What I mean by this is that even though a decision was made there is always a choice involved whether or not to accept this decision.  It is not written in stone.

The other thing I want to mention is that there is a road/path which is behind the person as well.  They can always turn back despite the limiting offer of choices.

I will draw another card for tomorrow’s guidance and possibly a contributing card if my gut feeling steers the way.

Interesting.  The King of Hearts represents a loved one (male) in the family circle.  Often this card is read as the father.   Situations can arise involving the home or the father.

This time I will draw another card to gain a bit more info surround the home/family.

CONTRIBUTING CARD:  PATH

No doubt there will be some sort of choice offered or a decision to be made involving the home/family member.  The Queen of Diamonds (not always visible on certain Lenormand decks) can suggest the involvement of a female.

Marriage question using Lenormand

The Simple 6 card layout is used to illustrate the question. Male B. is the seeker of the Lenormand session. Layouts need not be complicated- keep it simple. You can replace the past, present, future rows with other identifications, such as, decision made/results of decision/how will my decision affect me…. and so on.

27. LETTER – Covers a vast amount of areas –the written word. Easy enough to figure out by looking at the nearby cards. News, announcements, memos etc. Coupled with the BIRDS card juicy gossip. With the PARK card an invitation to a gathering or party. Near the CROSS card- disturbing news. When the SCYTHE & COFFIN cards are involved – obituary.

36. CROSS – A test. Related to Karmic situations. It’s a sure thing. In the positive aspects of this card there is a promise of completion. Describes something important. Coupled with the HOUSE card- negative news approaches regarding a family member. With the Moon card –profound thoughts. Near the SHIP card- a trip out of necessity.

.B received some important news in the recent past regarding his question about marriage. It appears as though there has been a final commitment (CROSS)or some type of resolution which has put an end to the many questions in his mind. Maybe the wedding invitations (LETTER)were just sent or an appointment has been made with a religious official. The CROSS card can represent a church as well.

PRESENT- middle 2 cards. HEART + ANCHOR

24. HEART- The positive emotional level, however it is influenced greatly by surrounding cards. The love department in a person’s life. Good cards nearby reinforce the strength of feelings contained within. Affection, caring. As a person (Jack of Hearts) suggests a romantic or potential love interest. Coupled with the GENTLEMAN card will describe a love-filled individual. Near the CROSS card- a Karmic affair with a fated feeling. With the DOG card-doesn’t get much better –utmost loyalty in love.

35. ANCHOR – What you do for a living. Strengthens neighboring cards so that there is more security. Finding the target or goal. As a characteristic, someone who is dependable. Coupled with the WHIP card will indicate 2 jobs. With the MOUSE card –loss of position.

.In the current state surrounding B there is a strong suggestion that love is here to stay. The ANCHOR card reinforces the power of the love within the HEART card. There still is some work (ANCHOR) to do and that is understandable as there is a wedding to plan.

FUTURE- bottom 2 cards. LADY + HOUSE

29. LADY- Female seeker of cards. The partner of the male getting the reading. When the GENTLEMAN & LADY cards fall in the “now” spot the suggestion is that these 2 people will see each other (if living apart) or be caught up in an important situation. Coupled with the MOON card- an emotional personality. 4. HOUSE = Wherever you live. When this card is beside the SHIP it can suggest a houseboat or trailer. Matters concerning the family members. A father or head of the household (King of Cups). Property.

.These two cards are suppose to answer the question. Lucky for B, his special LADY falls in the future spot. This is a very good omen as far as “people showing up in the future”. She is thinking about wanting a family (HOUSE) and all the wonderful things that go along with that. Her feelings of love a deep and unwavering. It looks like daddy (King of Cups) will lend a helping hand in all the preparations to come. Often parents do not or can not participate in a wedding. Yes it looks affirmative for B to get married.
