Trio Shustah(c) reading

Page of Shustah© Cards

What a lovely bunch of cards to get when asking the question about financial improvements. I often get telephone calls from people who aren’t ready for a full reading because they just want to ask one or two quick questions. I don’t mind doing this on occasion but if it becomes too regular then I suggest that they make an appointment to have a session with me.

GOLDEN HORSE, SPINNING TOP, BIG WISH.

Yellow cards are all about gain, creativity and spiritual energy. Blue cards have constructive energy which usually has a definite result one way or another. It depends which one it is  because there can be stagnation in this so called constructive energy as well.

The 3 spots have specific rather traditional meanings according to Ann Manser & Cecil North’s accompanying book. I find this layout quite similar to the Symbolon deck layout. From my experience the cards do not always stay true to the spots they fall in. Many times I have seen card #1 or #2 as the outcome. I’m not certain why this happens but it does.

#1 – the basis of the question

12. Golden Horse depicts intuition. One of it’s other meanings is victory. The horse that wins the cup in the race. One thing to remember is that the “cup” is most likely the question asked. All indicators are that there will be success and the color scheme is excellent. Progress is indicated but one must factor in the intuitive aspect. Here the “gut feelings” play a role as well.

#2 – the situation in question

9. Spinning Top is filled with surprises and usually they are pleasing. If the card following is it red then you know the surprise is not pleasant and there could be additional struggles coming your way. This card can be interpreted in two ways. The surprise will either startle you because it is too good to be true or it can go the other way too. Often we get stunned when really good things happen to us as well. It’s like saying, “I can’t believe this happened, it’s a miracle”.  Or “I can’t believe he/she died”.

#3 The result of the question

9. Big Wish is a blessing. The person will get the financial improvement that was asked about most likely in an unexpected way, but through positive circumstances.    This card is a BIG YES.

And so we have one happy camper receiving advice that came from the Pages of Shustah© oracle.

RED Shustah(c) cards

The RED cards.

#1 Death

Interpretation & Suggestions – a card of endings, completions, conclusion. It is the final stretch in a situation. What appears to have died is really only a change in the state of it, a shifting of energy in another direction. The Death card indicates that most likely you will not get what you want in the way you want it.

It is important to understand the process you are involved in and try to look at the entire scheme of things. The re- birthing process. Knowing the closure is a necessary part of moving on. Also, the removal is necessary because it is either not in your highest good or it does not have enough vitality/purpose to grow any further.

#2 Little Foxes

Interpretation & Suggestions – a card of interference, intrusion, mingling, interjections. There are many factors to consider when this card makes it’s appearance. What seems to be plain and simple is on the contrary. Hidden motivations play a large part in the final outcome.

At times we attract situations/people blocks or temporary challenges to ourselves because we do not feel 100% worthy of the positive outcome we are wishing for. Are your intentions sincere? Many times there are facts we are not aware of when asking a question. The Little Foxes represents the shadows or doubts that are cast upon certain situations.

#3 Separating Fence

Interpretation & Suggestions – as it’s title suggests, a separation, being apart, phenomenal barrier, dream state, a break up, severing of ties. There is an emotional and/or physical distancing going on. You could be getting ahead of yourself or getting in your own way. Two people part ways. A situation is extracted from your life on a permanent basis. A card of self empowerment when facing adverse conditions.

It is time to pull away from a person that is creating disturbances or havoc in your life. Stop being the “patsy”, a term used to describe a person in an abusive relationship. You do have the intellectual strength to reallocate your emotional ties.

Sometimes this card suggests making contact with loved ones who have passed on. In this case, the fence is the division between the two worlds. More often than not, there is a far bit of miles between you and someone else that comes from a change of residence.

#4 The Bed

Interpretation & Suggestions- ailments, physical/emotional setback, resting, recovery, sleeping.   The bed is a symbol for many things.  Notice the bed is empty and it doesn’t look like it has been slept in.  The two pillows suggest a situation that could be intimate in nature between 2 people such as an emotional link.

Often we do our best thinking in bed and when we are in our dream state we can actually confront our problems & find solutions to them.  You can train yourself to remember your dreams & develop your own personal dream symbols.

In a reading, this card warns you to take care of your physical needs.  Rest is required to be a fully functional human being.  When interpreting with other Red cards the warning becomes serious and there could be an illness involved.

Other physical needs are depicted by the bed such as love-making.  This does not mean whenever you see this card that you will end up having a wild night in the sack, but it does mean sex might be an issue of concern.

#5 Black Cat

Interpretation & Suggestions – pay attention, sudden change in decision keen observation, being alert, uncontrollable urges. A strong warning to look before you leap. If you are planning to move on in a certain direction be warned that you will meet up an external situation that mirrors your fears and other negative emotions. This situation can come in the form of a person who is not interested in your emotional well being. It can be a situation that will take you down if you have the attitude that you can do no wrong by stepping on the toes of the wrong people.

In romantic questions, the Black Cat forewarns volatile emotional outburst that occur out of the blue. A seemingly quiet and good natured person is laced with an intense jealousy streak.

#6. Closed Gate

Interpretation & Suggestions – prevention, halt, obstacle, don’t count on it. In one word – NO. It’s time to think about what you are doing. Maybe you are going about it all in the wrong way or you have an inappropriate plan to a solution. Often all you can do is accept that it just is not going to work out the way you had hoped. You should step back and reassess the situation. Do as the Tarot Hanged Man – change your perspective. The “thing” that is in the way is the least of your problems because there are other alternatives. Have you even tried to get through the obstacle?

In some situations, a “no” answer is a relief. Often the want of a refusal is completely positive. For example if you asked about pregnancy (& you do not want to conceive) or a terminal illness (your xrays are good).

Another way to look at the Closed Gate is by asking yourself if you are in denial about something & why?

#7 Whip

Interpretations & Suggestions – punishment, discipline, focus, getting an emotional or intellectual beating. The mind is capable of lengthy study or research if need be. Self-discipline requires a commitment. When you start a project and plan to finish you must be focused not only on the beginning but also on the end. I don’t mean in an obsessive way but it needs to be part of the processing framework.

Often the Whip represents a potential threat which never materializes. It is just lip service. This can be taken in many ways because you can be told, “do it or else” or it can come across as bribery / guilt. I have seen this card to mean a curfew and a limitation as well.

:) The 1st 7 RED cards are completed :)

Shustah(c) cards

I haven’t written about the Pages of Shustah© deck in some time.  Instead of detailing a study layout I have decided to draft up some helpful tips in reading the cards individually.  The cards are divided into 5 colors. BLACK, YELLOW, RED, BLUE and GREEN.

The first colored section of the deck that I will write about will be the RED cards.  These cards generally depict the challenges (akin to spades) or frustrating energies we deal with.

COMING UP in the next post.

Pregnant Mouse – #6 Green

I did a one card draw to see what the Pages of Shustah© deck would reveal. I had no question on my mind while I shuffled the cards. I chose 1 card at random while the deck was face down in the palm of my hand.

I wasn’t surprised to see the Pregnant Mouse. For more excellent detailed posts on this card please visit Rev Foor’s (a man I admire immensely) blog called DAILY READING & MEDITATION

The pregnant mouse really reminds me of the Tarot 5 of Pentacles and the Lenormand #23 Mouse card. There is one common thread meaning in these cards and it is loss. I’m just thinking out loud in this post and it will show you how I come to the conclusions I do. I type as I think along each process.

As a follow up to the train of thought of my last post in which I stated our thoughts create our reality, I am staring at a card that has negative connotations. :P Is my mind filled with negativity at this moment? Ok so we all know I lost my job and that part of the meaning for the #6 Green card is poverty or loss of financial abundance. That is way too obvious.

As many of you know when you are worried about paying your bills an emotional unbalance is unavoidable. This card is green and not red which suggests progress and development. In the image there are 2 rather cute mice. The one standing upright is pregnant for sure but the other one in the lower right hand corner might not be. The number 2 is about sharing, cooperation, balance, partnership etc – not so bad after all.

I suspect that the message of this card is a type of spiritual poverty as well. This happens when you give up for a short time and lose hope that everything will be alright. On the left side of the card it looks like a piece of cactus sticking out from the bushes.

pregnant-mouse.jpgSince the Pages of Shustah© cards are suppose to trigger your imagination as well, I see a huge thumb belonging to a right hand. The rest of the hand is out of view. A hand symbolizes help or assistance. If you wear a ring on your thumb the suggested association is Willpower and Independence. Actually the closer I look at the thumb I do see the outline of a ring, one of those adjustable rings.

 Aaaah a flexible state of mind….
This is a good sign. In the distant background you can see 3 forms that have shadows – so it must be sunny outside. The Weeping Willow tree covers a good part of the upper right side of the card. It is the same tree as shown in the Red card #9 called the Weeping Woman. The difference is that the tree is much fuller in this card. This means it is still alive and growing.

It is strong too because it will sway in the wind and is not as rigid as an Oak tree.

The Weeping Willow tree has symbolic connection to grief. A mourning time. It puts us in touch with our emotions and dreams. It is believed that poets and musicians would sit under the tree to get inspired.

There is a distinct message within this card that my emotions are lacking nutrients and nourishment which can only be achieved by utilizing the strength of my Willpower to gain independence of the heaviness in my womb -the unborn mouse. As with all grieving processes it all comes on it’s own time.

The wind is blowing a little because you can see the clouds passing by…. and they are passing.

This card is telling me to address issues that are in transition. The pregnant mouse will not be pregnant forever, she will give birth. Gestation is usually 18 to 20 days depending on the breed. Good grief no wonder there are so many mice racing around. :P

mouse.jpgTime Frame + Advice : Things will improve within 3 weeks leading to the birth of a new emotion, idea or plan by being flexible during the time of gestation

Shustah reading

I wanted to post this very, very interesting 3 card Pages of Shustah© reading that I did this morning. It seems to me many people have their jobs on their mind or are wanting a change.

Veronica is still waiting for an answer. And I think the clarification card, RED -Little Foxes was most likely the key to that entire trio. “The real question is whether or not Veronica is really in a position whereby she would be considered for this employment opportunity despite her previous experience. I also get the feeling that this situation has “a curve ball” which I suspect is fast approaching perhaps within the week. For the most part the cards’ energies are good”. With that situation there is still a lot of red tape.

I got a call from a Sandie asking if she will land the job that she was being interviewed for before lunch time. She said it felt like the interviewing process went well.

I asked the cards on her behalf and studied them for quite some time. I had no RED cards which was a good sign, that would have been a red flag right off the bat.

I meditated prior to drawing each of the 3 cards, focusing on her question, “will I get the job?”. The colors were good.

GREEN- journey. BLACK – Gemini. BLUE- Child and the Puppy

My analysis of these cards shows much indecision which is confirmed by #3 Gemini. The Child and the Puppy gave me a feeling that she might have bitten off more than she could chew. In other words, maybe she did not have enough experience to land this job. #8 journey pointed to some travel or least progress which would have been the travel to another city for a second interview.

As it turned out, she did not get the position which we found out close to supper time. She was to get a telephone call at 4:30 with the answer if a second interview was in order. I suggested she call them, so that she did not worry or fantasize about this “dream” job over the weekend.

Sandie was very disappointed. The reason she did not get the job was because the “boots” the little girl is wearing she could not fill. Those “boots” symbolized the education degree that was mandatory for that job. Despite all the good references she had & exceptional experience, the interviewer’s hands were tied. He had to follow company policy.

Phooey, Phooey, on them, they broke the little girls heart and yes I bet she went home and cuddled her dog. :)

I went ahead and asked the Tarot cards and the probable outcome was 9 of Swords and the outcome was 9 of Cups. Basically, complete opposites. I was almost certain her wishes would come true regarding this job opportunity. I told Sandie not to give up because the materialization of the “wish card” will still happen but at a later time. Right now she is experiencing the 9 of Swords. The other cards in the Celtic cross supported the 9 of Cups, more so than the 9 of Swords…..and that is a topic for a whole other post.
