2 of Clubs.
When you are doing a reading using a standard deck of playing cards it is important to understand just what each card means. These meanings can have a range and often change during your relationship within the practice of cartomancy.
I have found at least 2 dozen systems of reading playing cards. About 10 of these systems are unique to the creator, the others are spin offs, copycats or a merging of several rolled into one. What I don’t like is when people do not give credit to the original designers of these systems.
Way too many people assign meanings from the Tarot to the playing cards – how is that unique?
We all know that 2 of something means cooperation or partnership is possible. There is someone or some thing else involved. In the Tarot (Rider), the man is holding onto a wand suggesting a choice was made.
Clubs can be wands but in the older cartomancy books they are worse than the modern spades. So what do clubs mean? Are we going to give them the same meaning as the wands? If that works for you go for it. I think part of the energy is the same. For example: action, impulse, bluntness, speed and so on. Many readers have given clubs the dominion of all that is business related, commerce, trade, work and even travel.
I have found that many people want plain old fortune telling without any deep esoteric symbolism. They do not care what relationship the playing cards have with other systems. All they want is a reading.
How would you interpret the 2 of clubs in a layout? There are several ways to do this. Forget everything you have ever read on this card and start with a new meaning. Trust me on this. The brand new meaning you assign will materialize in the exact same way as all those hundreds of meanings for 2 of clubs.
I once had an interesting dialogue with 94stranger (Rainring cards) about reading a bag of popcorn. It is the same concept. You read the meanings you assign.
NOTE: In order for this to be successful, grab a magic marker and write 2 keywords on every card in the standard playing deck, even the joker(s) if you want. Allow yourself a few hours to do this and wait for the marker to dry,
because it will smudge. This happened to me when I did this exercise.
Next: Shuffle the cards and do your favorite layout. You can remove any numbers you want to downsize the deck into 25, 32, or 40 cards. You are in control. The less cards in the layout the better at the beginning. 5-7 cards is good enough. Look at the cards in front of you, link your own keywords and tell a story. Now, really… did it matter if it was a 7 of hearts or 10 of spades you were reading?
Be a little adventurous
try something different :)

.The interpretation for the playing cards that you see in the image is rooted in Regina Russell’s “Card Reader’s Handbook” system. I have studied her technique since the publication of her original book. Permission granted to use the handbook’s meanings.
After you use any system of card divination you form custom meanings through experience and feedback. It is helpful to know the core meanings. The Skat cards differ in meaning and yet they are standard playing cards as well.
PASSING spot 4
Q
A![]()
A telephone call 4
is made by a female member Q
+A
of the family. Often the Q
is the female getting the reading done. The topic of the conversation would be about a situation that involves providing a service of some type that is helpful 4
in nature. It would involve a home or place of business which most likely is within the place of residence. The situation could be connected to a visit or a house call A
.
The next fan of three cards will expand on this providing more information as in the circumstances around this conversation or phone call.
NOW spot 5
9
5![]()
In the now spot there is evidence that because of a conversation in the very recent past an situation will come up that will involve an interviewing 5
process. The 5
contains a wonderful opportunity that will bring great pleasure to the person who is getting this reading Q
. A long distance phone call is coming 4
+ 9
or a message from a long distance away that will involve a business 5
opportunity.
A meeting is shown that will include some shop talk 5
+ 8
and the bouncing of ideas that leads to the possibility of organizing an mutually agreed upon business relationship 5
+ 10
. It’s always a good idea to scan the next fan of cards to complete the theme of the cards. It doesn’t have to be the very next fan, it can be any card or cards that happen to stand out when you are forming your interpretation.
SOON spot - 10
8
7![]()
A very busy time is shown in the next few weeks. The SOON spot is usually a few weeks and often I have seen it materialize within a few days. The relationship between the Q
and the other person has not been defined at this point. We do not know if it is a male or female. There are 3 KINGS in this layout suggesting it would be a male oriented. The business conversation 8
continues. Within the 10
is a hint it most likely is a male. This card depicts a matrimonial partner or someone you are in a relationship with. Since the 10
is surrounded by
‘s, it is probably a good friend with an interest in business as well.
There is an offer coming. This offer can be a business project or an actual job 5
+ 8
. Often the 7
+ 10
represents a reconciliation. In a business aspect perhaps an idea that lay dormant is being looked at again. A negotiation 7
will come to pass.
1-2 MONTHS spot K
K
7![]()
This spot reveals the probable future. It usually happens within this time frame. Here we have 2 KINGS suggesting a male in uniform. There are no
‘s in this fan so it is all good as in not because of any trouble. There are no health related cards or heavy duty spades in the layout so it is safe to assume the man in uniform will be a good influence.
The 7
shows a financial increase connected to these 2 Kings. The man involved will be a warm hearted friend or a compassionate businessman. Anytime the 7
is beside a court card the suggestion is that the circumstances will be public in nature. For example, a business that deals directly with people versus E-commerce. Serving the public.
INFLUENCES spot 5
K
2![]()
The spot in the layout usually show the unforeseen influences. The fan can hold good meaning cards or introduce possible obstacles or challenges. The first couple of
‘s side by side. Usually the K
is an Ex or a professional man. Since he is coupled with the 5
and the fan ends in the 2
I will read him as a divorced man 5
+ K
. This man’s intentions are favorable or at least end on a good note.
You can read the 2
to represent children- perhaps his kids. The A
+ 5
points to a relocation or changes in the residence and this is connected to this K
. The reason for that is because the 5
is beside him.
ADDITIONAL possibilites
At this point we have a general idea of some of the situations coming up for the Q
. You can get much more information if you read the fans of 3 card vertically as well. For example: K
5
5
or K
9
K
. As you can see the K
could very well be a male member of the family who is having issues with his job 5
5
and because there are 2 -5′s together there is an element of urgency to this.
…and so on…
My long time friend of some 20 years who visited Hungary this past fall brought me back a gorgeous deck of Piatnik
Skat cards (seen in the images) among some other exotic items. The deck has 32 of the traditional cards used in the the “old gipsy” pastime of fortune telling. There are numerous systems on the market that deal specifically with regular playing cards so that it becomes a challenge to find a “good” system and stick to it.
What I have found is the CLUBS suit has meanings as challenging as the SPADES. The modern symbolisms of the CLUBS belong to the world of business. A lot depends on if the creator of a skat/playing card system is rooted in the Tarot.
Can 32 cards provide as much detailed information as does the Regina Russell’s or Deborah Leigh’s Personal Prophesy systems? I think so. Sometimes “more” is not “better”.
Under the header (top of page) is a tab called gipsy Skat 7 – Ace. There you will find the most popular traditional meanings for the 32 cards. I use these meanings in the study example of this post.
Lets look at the Queen of Hearts, mainly because this queen is usually the card representing the female that is seeking the reading. I would like to demonstrate the traditional block of 9 layout using just this Queen.
1/3 QUEEN of HEARTS – [" The card of the female asking the cards a question. A close lady friend, the partner of the K
, the woman of the household. She is sensitive, giving and full of affection. You can rely on her."]

.Starting with the center 3 cards. JACK H QUEEN H, JACK D. The Queen has the Jack of Hearts to her left and Jack of Diamonds to her right. She looks trapped by her own & other people’s thoughts. (Jacks can represent the thoughts of the King and Queen belonging to the same suit. Jacks are actual people as well – description below.
JACK
["Depicted a young person that is well known, usually within the family circle. This card represents the thoughts of the Queen or King
as does the Page in the Tarot cards. It brings a good influence. When you see this card and the Queen or King are missing you will know it is what they are thinking about. "]
JACK
["The card of the young lucky man. It also represents the thought of the Q and K
. He or she would be someone that does not take things too seriously and seems to come out of situations smelling like a rose. "]
Before you begin interpreting these three cards it would be a good idea to gain a better understanding of all the cards involved. The Jack falls in the past or just passing spot- he is behind the Queen
even though they are still looking at each other. There is a definite emotional link. However the link could very well be the Queen’s own thinking process.
Above the Jack
is the Jack
["In this system, the
s lean towards the modern day meanings. This card is the person that no one really likes. He or she is found as the instigator of troubles. If you are asking about a favorable outcome and this Jack comes up, the answer comes but not without a struggle."] and beneath is the
9
["A card of deep worry. Sickness. Confusion & doubts. This card indicates an area were complete trust and loyalty is lacking. When touching a court card use caution in any communication. Other cards could point to a sickness of the individual as well."]
Can the reading commence yet… it could. I would like to point out that what you are reading is the step by step process of divination by cards …most of it goes on in your head before you even speak..
When you glance at all 9 cards you should have the core “theme” and then build on it as you talk (when doing a one-on-one consultation, face to face). If you are doing an E-reading for someone then you probably won’t want to provide all the details how you assimilated your information with the exception of a few cards. Most people do not care how you arrive at your interpretation unless of course they too are learning all about the cards that you are using to do the reading.
OK, the next step to get more information around the JACK
and 9
.
Let’s look at the single cards above and below the Queen
.
Sitting on top of the Queen is the ACE
["The card of occupational connections. Ideas. This card brings luck to the adjoining cards. An increase of money is shown. Coupled with court cards it describes a person that is intelligent and one who will have connections in the work force."].
Beneath the Queen is the 9
["The card of negativity. In this we have an influence that is challenging. An illusion- sometimes the person’s own imagination thinking the worst. This card cautions about mis-communications and a variety of mishaps."].
2 9′s – both of them are negative in nature, and black 9
9
AND 2 Aces -one red, one black.
3 J’s – 2 red and 1 black. Sometimes 3 Jacks can be a place of employment with mostly men under 40 ish.
By this point a good part of the jig saw puzzle should be solved but there are still a few pieces missing. The last column is traditionally the future or what shall come to pass…as in outcome or results.
Now we will look at this last column to see what’s around the JACK
who doesn’t seem be very interested in what the Queen is doing.
Above the Jack is the 10
["The card of travel usually connected to a necessity. Foreign matters- a person at a distance. A major change- much depends are neighboring cards. Questions involving “time” - the answer is a long wait.]
Below the Jack is the ACE
["The card of large institutions such as court, hospitals, educational facilities, high profile offices. Divorce, death and terminal illness."]
10
- this card suggests a matter that will take a long time. It also means that the Jack
will embark on some long distance travel in the future.
+ Jack
+ Ace
= young man is trained in any of the areas depicted by the Ace.
Now that we know the [meanings] and we can see the fans of 3 cards horizontally + vertically the reading could begin. Understanding the Block of 9 layout is important too and is detailed below.

Sept 20, 2007. I want to share Part 1 – using the 15 card layout© found in the Card Reader’s Handbook. written by Regina Russell.
Some of the Regina’s card meanings & combinations are used to demonstrate this reading.

RIGHT FAN: 5

BOTTOM FAN: 8

LEFT FAN is the passing spot, some influences were still active around the time of the date of the reading. Reading the suits of the cards,

we already know that an emotional situation being worked on will end up with a delay or challenge.
ACE
represents the home and things going on within the family circle. Love.
QUEEN
is generally a fair haired female or close friend, co-worker but in this case is a female belonging to the family (beside ACE
)
2
is a card about suggesting a separation or removal. I have always read this card to indicate a forced action. Against you natural Will.
This reading is from Oct. 5th using the 21 card layout found in the Card Reader’s Handbook written by Regina Russell and I will make reference to some of her meanings for the cards. [written permission granted by Regina Russell to use her copyright material from her book]

I will only talk about the first four spots in this post. When I begin to analyze a fan of 3 cards I usually do it in point form. These are the steps I use (a) I write the meanings of each card, (b) I look for combinations (c) I include any additional insight which will identify the situation or person (d) attempt to blend the essence of the message using a+b+c. This is a simple method but it is effective.
I have about 3 readings that had the exact same spades combinations which date back to Sept/07. I became concerned about the 8

because through experience I knew it would involved a surgery-but as mentioned before in a few other posts I did not know for sure who.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
News will come in about someone, probably a male member of a family who will require major surgery. There is much worry and concern about this condition because not all has been revealed. It will involve the leg area and possibly the heart. Thus a heart attack.
There are strong suggestive cards that point to a problem involving drugs….a reaction, an overdose or maybe even an allergic reaction.
There is only one
topping the fan but it is a heavy duty one which shows the end result will be upsetting. I have seen the combination of 9
5
7
(drug overdose)in three separate readings and this concerns me. One of the meanings of 10
is body fluids. This can be read an pneumonia when in connection to the 8
9
which happens sometimes to a person who endures a stressful surgical procedure.
I asked the Tarot cards for more clarification on this reading…which is in the next post.
When I did my daughter’s cards last week and she encountered the issues around the vehicle, the Tarot revealed the situation around the current family member who had the heart attack yesterday plain as day in the following two cards….
[upheaval involving the family/home].
The bad news I said was coming was not only about her vehicle but it was yesterday’s news as well…
It is very important to remain open minded when reading any cards because there are multi-level meanings that materialize and an oversight is very easy. There were other things I said to my daughter which made absolutely NO SENSE in the context of the Celtic cross I did but a few of those cards were STAND ALONE situations.
Playing card trio reveals heart attack, possible stroke.

Today I received news of someone special in our family ending up in the hospital with a heart attack. I don’t have all the details yet because it happened a few hours ago.The leg is involved – a blockage which is preventing the flow to the heart.A major operation is pending.

Quoted from the above link to the post mentioning these cards.
“Interestingly, today I see the same spade duo and once again no court cards. This time the 5 of spades is involved. The 5’s would suggest one of the limbs of the body. According to Regina’s method, this card means the leg area.”
[update: Dec 1st- the leg area was involved because the veins were removed to do the by pass on the heart]

3 ACES- suggests an upheaval in life direction, major changes will happen within 2 months involving many different areas. The ACE
is missing- this means that the home/loved ones are involved.
There are many combinations in this reading on top of the few key phrases I have given.
The story contained within this reading…..
1. Involves a young man who has purchased a vehicle. It required minor repairs but this new expense was not within the budget thus causing him much financial worry.
2. The young man and his girlfriend broke up and out of that hurt a trip was booked to travel a great distance over water. The decision appeared to be mutual & was triggered by aggressive behaviour.
3. The male has the relationship on his mind but did everything possible to salvage it. The girlfriend is a dark haired female. She is in an “upset” mood mainly because of her own issues and could have an imbalance in her blood work.
4. A significant change of lifestyle awaits this young man which can be an opportunity or challenge over the next two months.. however the crux of this reading has materialized within 2 weeks.
5. There was a small win of money but it came in the form of a compensation check from his employer for work that was done in the past. In any event it was a surprise and not expected.
There is much more to this reading. I just wanted to illustrate part of the process of delineation. A brief scan.
This reading was done using Regina Russell‘s 6 card layout that is included in her book called the ” Card Readers Handbook“. The summary of the reading below is using Regina’s card meanings to illustrate the delineation process of the layout as well as some additional insights I have.
The entire deck of 52 standard playing cards is shuffled and 6 cards are selected to answer a specific question. I have had great success with this layout over the past several decades. The odd time the question wasn’t answered but those were rare occasions. And that could have been because the question was not specific or direct.
In the image below you will see the cards involved. I will briefly describe the meanings of the cards in the positions.
The answer to this question will be revealed on Friday or Monday.

Question: Will Veronica’s contract be extended?
.The first two cards- Ace of Diamonds & 4 of Hearts describe the recent/ past or the basis of the question.
.The second two cards- King of Diamond & 6 of Clubs describe the future outcome or result of the question.
.The third two cards- 5 of Spades & Queen of Diamonds describe the present or current process leading to the result of the question. The spot is basically the now spot.
.The Queen of Diamonds in the bottom right hand corner of the spread is the trigger or the “pivot card for the spread”.
Recent/past-The Ace suggests a new beginning and new people. An invitation was offered to Veronica for short term contract with an organization. She accepted.
The 4 of Hearts points to a mutual agreement which occurred from this invitation. A type of partnership was formed, mainly employee-employer partnership. This card’s meaning is marriage also but we are not asking a romantic type of question
Present or Current- The 5 of spades is a card suggesting loss of opportunity. The core meaning of this card is the ending of something. Within this card lies the meaning of having to basically fend for yourself.
The Queen of Diamonds would represent Veronica. It could also depict another fair haired female that could be involved in the final decision about the contract OR it is quite possible the contract will be extended because of a lighter haired female’s activities and not necessarily the person who would help out to secure the contract. Sometimes position become available through synchronicity- being at the right place at the right time.
Because the Queen of Diamonds is the card to really study before coming to any conclusions regarding the outcome of the question- it does shed a ray of hope because it is generally a positive card. But because the 5 of spades is so close it would influence the positive energy to a some degree.
Future outcome/result- The King of Diamonds is a male surrounded by financial power or who is in a position of strength. This could be a manager or the person responsible for agreeing to continue this contract. After all, it will cost the organization money to pay Veronica’s wages.
The 6 of Clubs indicates that someone (King of Diamonds) will want to talk to her. This card also means “to provide a service”. The 6 also means electronics to some degree such as radio, stereo systems and even sports. The core meaning of the 6 of clubs to take take things into your own hands.
The answer to the question is not totally negative….
There is only 1 spade and it touches both the King and the Queen. The court cards are from the same suit – indicating some sort of relationship between these two people. The 5 of spades is between the 2 court cards and that strongly suggests a separation- a parting of ways.
The Queen of Diamonds is looking at the 6 of clubs. The responsibility of employment is in the hands of the Queen. This can develop in many ways. If it is Veronica’s card- then it is up to her to seize another opportunity. If it is a female manager- it could point to the discussion about an extension or something entirely different but within the same organization. If the Queen represents another co-worker there could be a situation come up that will enable this extension of the contract but not in the way that is obvious at the moment.
It looks like the reading is leaning towards a yes however there are 2 strong cards suggesting a no, the 5 of spades & the 6 of clubs. I have always read the 6 as a card that points to “it’s up to you”.
[Another very interesting thing is that the organization has a great deal to do with providing a service related to "radio" - 6 of clubs] The answer to this question will be revealed either Friday or Monday.
Today’s example uses the regular playing cards in the simple 6 layout.
This layout works great with the Lenormand & Zigeuner-Deco-sibilla style cards

Jack asks if his partner will finish aspects of a project that he depends on to conclude a business agreement.
![]()
A very brief explanation
.PAST – 2 red Aces indicate positive energy around this project. It also suggest it is a new or original idea that could generate some income and happiness.A of
suggests the beginning of a financial situation that Jack is emotionally tied into (A of
. Diamonds typically represent things we cherish or place a value on..PRESENT – 2 red cards suggest good energy around this project and a joint effort is shown that requires stability of the emotions.4 of
suggest a solid plan that will bring emotional security to both Jack & his partner. 2 of
hints at a union of financial resources to get this project moving ahead..FUTURE – 1 black & 1 red card. Clubs are the “work” cards and the Hearts promise a successful completion. The 5 of
points to an obstacle which is suggested by the center club. There is a solution to removing this obstacle and it can be solved by tackling it from different sides. The 7 of
, traditionally associated with mysticism points to holding on to the belief that there will be Divine assistance as well. The obstacle depicted in the ” 5 card” has support now – there are 2 additional hearts. They will be reviewing the project for a second time before they can see it come to a completion. 7′s are about adjustments and modifications. There is a hint of renewed emotional interest as well.I think Jack’s partner will finish his part of the project perhaps even sooner than expected (2 Aces in the past spot=surprise= suggests something already done). You can use any-body’s system of regular playing card divination to do a decent interpretation of these 6 cards.
update: sept 21st, Jack was informed that mid October the project would resume. The cards were right, well the intention is there but the real test will be next month.
update: Oct 16- Jack’s partner has begun on the continuation of the project but with a twist- it has gone back to it’s original name.
Have you ever really studied the court cards belonging to a regular deck of playing cards?
I looked through several decks & noticed some differences but nothing too outstanding. The court cards pretty much stay the same in a standard deck of cards. However, one deck had 3 jacks with moustaches & 1 without, and the other deck had 2 with moustaches and 2 didn’t. The direction the JACKS faced are identical.
Are you a Jack birthday?

January 29(Aquarius) February 27(Pisces)) March 25(Aries) April 23(Taurus) May 21(Taurus or Gemini) June 19(Gemini) July 17(Cancer August 15(Leo) September 13(Virgo) October 11(Libra) November 9(Scorpio) December 7(Sagittarius)
Jack of Clubs. He is very youthful looking and has no facial hair. His hair is long with a neatly rolled curl all the way around. There is a feather or leaf protruding from his hat. After examining at what the Jack of Hearts was holding in his hand it appears to be one in the same, a feather or leaf. It is hard to tell if the jack of clubs is holding a long, fat arrow that has been partially cut in the image or if it is a shield which may make more sense. He faces to the right but not fully as does the jack of spades.

January 16(Aquarius) February 14(Aquarius) March 12(Pisces) April 10(Aries) May 8(Taurus) June 6(Gemini) July 4(Cancer) August 2(Leo)
Jack of Diamonds. He has no facial hair either. His hair is in a similar fashion but a little less rigid on the one side. He does hold a sword. This jack looks to the left but not fully as does the jack of hearts.

January 3 (Capricorn) February 1 (Aquarius)
Jack of Spades. He is sporting a moustache. He looks straight to the right and only his right eye is visible on the cards, hence the one-eyed jack. His hair is a bit more unruly and not as neat as the previous 2 jacks. He is the only jack with 2 rows of curls. He looks like he is older and has the look of more experience on his face. It is not certain what he hold his hands, maybe a type of weapon or a symbol of some sort. It could be a very decorated knife or spear.

January 16(Aquarius) February 14(Aquarius) March 12(Pisces) April 10(Aries) May 8(Taurus) June 6(Gemini) July 4(Cancer) August 2(Leo)
Jack of Hearts. He has a moustache as well. His hair maintains the fashionable curl as with the other jacks but looks more free flowing. This jack is also more mature. He faces directly to the left of the card and only his left eye can be seen. In his hand he holds a feather or leaf similar to what the jack of clubs has sticking out of his hat. Perhaps a secret message or code? Behind him stands an axe.
If you want to try this layout use your own meanings or card meanings you have learned from other card readers.
Shuffle the entire deck of 52 cards, cut 3x and reassemble into 1 pile. Start with the SITUATION spot and place three cards. Continue across to the now spot & 3-4 weeks in the same manner.
The next card goes to the 3 month spot & the following card goes to the opportunities & challenges spot.
Then back to the 3 month spot and then to the opportunities & challenges spot.
You should have 2 cards left in your hand.
Place the second last card in the 3 months spot and finally the last card in the opportunities & challenges spot.

#34 Fish, King of Diamonds
In the tradition of the Madame Lenormand interpretation of the #34 Fish card most Lenormand cartomancers (diviners of cards) will agree that the card’s primary meaning is money matters. The vast range of financial situations.
This card is usually about money coming in. A check (#27 letter), a windfall (#2 clover), inheritance (#8 coffin), as a gift (#9 bouquet) & certainly not limited to just those cards. When coupled with negative cards points to money spent ( #23 mouse), money stopped ( #10 scythe), money blocked (#21 mountain), financial change (#17 stork) etc.
The symbolism of the fish suggest fluid energy which is what money is – energy. It is important to circulate this energy by spending it and also by accepting the abundance it does represent. If you hold on tightly to things of tangible/financial value you block the flow of energy. This applies to information as well -In a simple ritual of attracting money to yourself, one of the key parts to the successful manifestation of this attraction is to generate flow. In your belief system, you must allow abundance by being open to it. Also, by giving money or things of value away (releasing it) you contribute to the cycle of flow. The fluid aspect will also indicate liquids of different types- water, alcohol etc.
When you use the King of Diamonds to represent a person connected to a situation, he will be a businessman or person with financial knowledge or have a level of great understanding to take charge. In ancient cartomancy, the King represents a fair haired man which includes blond, auburn, salt n pepper. He has been associated with the King of Wands of the Tarot. A fireball personality – an Aries ruled by Mars.
The start of the Spring time March 21st. Because of the Mars energy contained within the King of Diamonds he will have a short fuse and a quick temper. He likes to be in control which puts him in positions of command- an executive, a manager, an officer, tough boss, strict father, controlling husband.I think that people may be split on whether diamonds = wands or pentacles. A division for quite a few decades. In the ancient gypsy meanings the clubs point to money & financial matters more so than the diamonds. The more modern associations of the playing card meanings use Diamonds to represent the financial world.
Pick one system and master it before going on to another system because it will be discouraging when you find out all…the…other…meanings for each and every card. One of the older meanings for the King of Wands is the representation of marriage. The diamond King can adopt this suggested meaning as well when the specific questions relate to marriage. It will foretell success and the road leading to such. As always, the contributing cards modify meanings.
Don’t forget, the combinations do not always alter the meanings of the cards even though it appears that way.
The core meanings are just like your core personality- no matter how you are influenced by contributing situations
THE REAL YOU
will always surface
For example: #34 Fish, #2 Clover, #10 Scythe
a financially related matter will be intensified with a stroke of unexpected or fast luck which ends in a sudden conclusion/ending. None of the 3 card’s meanings are really lost- they are blended. On another level, a fair haired man with a quick temper blows up fast and gets over it immediately. French Cartomancy image of cards is used to explain this sample reading.
As I touched on briefly in the previous post, various meanings are assigned to certain standard playing cards and they will differ depending on which country the meanings originated from. Look closely at what Madame Lenormand did and the creators of the other Sibilla cards – not always a true reflection of the standard card meanings OR so it seems. I do think though that Madame Lenormand would have had ancient gypsy card meanings to use as a reference tool – she did not invent those because they are traced back in time before her birth.
The modern meanings are a spin off from the traditional with a little extra added to bring “meanings up to date”.
The 4 suits are pretty standard. Clubs= business, news, action. Hearts= emotional situations, love, friendships. Diamonds= money, things of value, results. Spades= worry, sickness, loss and challenges. Very similar to the the Tarot.

As the day approaches to an end and I am reviewing the last post using the Pages of Shustah, regular playing cards and the Mystical Lenormand I am not surprised that most of the suggested meanings came to pass.
The 7 diamonds and 7 hearts turned out to be an unexpected small win around my daughter and myself. It was really nothing to brag about but nevertheless it was an win.
The Shustah blue fishes and yellow coins confirm the small win.
The Lenormand Letter and Key cards point to a similar meaning although more vague, the part about the family was fairly close and it did involve a short trip. #27 Letter card was an actual scratch ticket that was cashed in as well as the invitation via telephone. There was no real direct evidence in the Lenormand trio of any financial gain. It should have been the Fish and the Clover cards.
