“Shustah 3 Card Reading”

Male Client F has been experiencing lower back pain for several years. There are no other jobs Client F can do within this organization. He is worried about his age for retraining & his financial position.  I thought this very straight forward question could be best answered by the Pages of Shustah© deck.

QUESTION:  Will Client F get pensioned off as a result of his current medical state?

The Strange Page...The Lord of Authority...The Coins.

CARD 1 – Yellow 11. The Strange Page

Card 1 describes the premise of the question.  The card falling in the first spot will give you a good idea as to the introductory energy brought in surrounding the question. Yellow cards suggest creativity, gain and spiritual awareness.

The Strange Page - This is a card of low self . It also means a  visitation. I think in Client F’s case the entire premise of his question came quite unexpectedly. He was prepared to go to work but his employer told him that they did not have any jobs which could be identified as modified.  Client F was told not to come to work.

Another meaning is unexpected company.  Client F did have an unexpected meeting with his employer as a result of not being given lighter duties.  The Strange Page does not reveal his hands in the image. This means “things” are being hidden from Client F, perhaps an ulterior motive of the company he works for.

CARD 2  - Red 14. The Lord of Authority

Card 2 describes the situation or the problem which can be one in the same.  The card falling in the second spot will reveal opposition if there is any with regards to the question.  This spot will also expand on external influences or the actual reason for asking a question.  Red cards indicate adversity, troublesome energy, seriousness and disappointments.

The Lord of Authority stops you in your tracks. The message of this card is, “not my will, but Thine be done”. The situation is out of Client F’s hand and it has a destiny of it’s own now.  The ball is rolling and there is no turning back. A problem does exist and decisions will be made by people in a much higher position than Client F.

The Lord of Authority in this case points to jumping through hoops.  Client F cannot move closer to a resolution because he has voiced his concerns about his back pain & the hoops involved are company policies.

I think there will be many delays before the final card materializes but Client F is already prepared for this.

CARD 3   – Yellow 10. The Coins

Card 3 describes the result or answer to the question. There are 2 cards in the deck which say a definite yes or no. There are several which strongly suggest a yes or no. The rest provide additional turn of events prior to getting an answer.  The third spot will give you a pretty good idea how the question will unfold.

Here’s the question again.

Will Client F get pensioned off as a result of his current medical state? As I wrote for card 1 Yellow cards suggest creativity, gain and spiritual awareness.  Right away you will know something positive will come out of all of this.

The Coins is a very promising card. It is probably one of the best cards for increase.  Financial increase & emotional gain.  Of course, Client F will experience a piece of mind with the increase of money.  To answer this question I would have to say there is a lump sum of money coming to Client F.  If he gets pensioned off, as they say, it will definitely involve a bundled amount of money.

Asking the Pages about career change.

I spoke to a female client this afternoon who is dissatisfied with her current job.  She applied for another position (career change) and completed her interview this morning.  I debated whether or not to do a Tarot celtic cross or just the 3 card draw using the Pages of Shustah deck. I knew she was interested in more direct guidance without getting into contributing factors which the Celtic cross would have revealed.

Blue Summer Angel. Yellow Witch Hazel Tree. Red Bed.

THE FOUNDATION:  Angel of Summer.

This Blue card’s influence is very positive around her question.  It is a card of success and indicates an answer or some further results from the interview taking place over the summer months.  Maybe the female will have another opportunity with the organization which is different than the actual job position she applied for.

The angel looks away from the layout.  My feeling on this is perhaps the female already has a good job and should not be looking at a career change.

THE SITUATION: Witch Hazel Tree.

This Yellow card’s influence surrounding the question asked and even the female’s current state of mind suggests she believes a career change is the answer.  This card promises a blossoming result.  It is important the client looks at the total picture of why she wants this career change.  Witch Hazel Tree also indicates to live in the here and now.

THE RESULT: The Bed.

This Red card’s influence is not a positive result.  It does not say go for it nor does it suggest progression and movement.  Actually it depicts rest. The female could be dreaming of all the opportunities to increase her financial situation by landing this new job.  I feel this card indicates a very slow time where there will not be great headway made.

WILL THE FEMALE CHANGE CAREERS?

I think she may be tired of working at the current job she has and should address the issue of maintaining balance in her life first. In answer to the question I feel a ‘no’ answer coming at this current time but I do feel something else appearing during the summer months (Angel of Summer).  The female should wait before making any major career changes.

Job Question- Shustah deck

One of my favourite decks is the Pages of Shustah©.  I have found that these cards offer some uncanny answers and sometimes reveal truths which a person may not be prepared to face.

Today’s question is about a Job situation.  Basically, the person wants to know if they will get the position they applied for just recently.

Below you will see the 3 cards I drew while thinking of the question on behalf of the person.

10 Green. 12 Black. 8 Green.

According to the accompanying book the “instrument meaning” describes the inner essence of the card. Actually there are 7 levels of interpretation to the Pages of Shustah© but I will only mention the instrument meaning.

The Black cards (Zodiac) do not have an instrument meaning but will take on the characteristic of the astrological sign assigned to it.  The question requires a yes or no answer but can also be studied quite in depth using the 7 levels.

card 1- 10 Green:  Legal Papers.  ”Card of written work”

card 2- 12 Black:  Pisces.  In this case I will read the “Egoic Response” as a myriad of adjectives are available to describe Pisces.  Note that this level belongs to one of the 7 levels mentioned above.  In a nutshell, this card suggests “low energy level, moody and confusion”.

card 3- 8 Green:  The Journey.  ”The card of progress”

In this simple 3 card layout we have 2 green cards denoting flowing energy or some further development with the question asked.  The Black cards can be used as time cards as well.  Pisces would rule February 20 to March 20.

From the 3 cards there is no obvious evidence of a negative answer.  The Black Pisces card in the centre could hint at a delay which could take another 6 – 10  weeks.  It is my understanding this position was to begin in a few weeks. I always try to take in consideration the ruling planet.  In this case it is Neptune.  What does that mean?  Perhaps not all is as it seems at the current time of the question.  CARD 2 explains the hindrance or opportunity in this question.  “The problem or situation.”

UPDATE: JAN 29 – THERE WAS A DELAY OF 2 WEEKS BEFORE A DECISION WAS MADE BY THE INTERVIEWING PANEL.

CARD 1:  In the spot of the “premise” which is really why the question is asked the legal papers do reflect a business theme. There would definitely be much communication through documentation in this job.

UPDATE: JAN 29.  THE LEGAL PAPERS INVOLVED WOULD HAVE BEEN THE  CERTIFICATION REQUIRED IN THE FIELD OF QUESTION.

CARD 3:  In the spot of “result” to the question the journey card can show an actual trip connected to this job or movement towards finding out if the person has been selected.  This would obviously occur as someone has to be chosen.

UPDATE: JAN 29.  THE LOCATION OF THE POSITION APPLIED FOR WOULD TAKE PLACE IN ANOTHER AREA OTHER THAN WITHIN  THE VICINITY THE INTERVIEW TOOK PLACE.

Do I have a positive feeling with these cards? I do, in that someone will be selected for the job, :) but seriously I am not completely convinced even though 8 Green is a card of progress. The road in the image of the card gives me the feeling of moving on or exploring other areas.

UPDATE:  JAN 29.  NO, THE FEMALE WAS NOT SELECTED FOR THIS JOB. SHE CAME CLOSE TO SECURING IT HOWEVER ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL HAD CERTIFICATION WHEREBY THE CLIENT  HAD MORE OF THE HANDS ON EXPERIENCE.

I will post the outcome of this question when the person lets me know.

A question for the Pages of Shustah

Tonight I got a telephone call from a client who is worried about the status of her employment. She  is concerned due to her  marginal sales during the present time.  The majority of her job consists of selling communication services.

I asked the Pages of Shustah© cards a question on behalf of my client.  She wants to know if her sales will pick up over the next 6 weeks.  I find this deck is usually very good in zeroing in on the energies surrounding the question which leads to a probable outcome.

I was pleased to see the 3rd card in the trio I selected because there is a promise of things getting better.

Will sales increase in 6 weeks?

Will sales increase in 6 weeks?

Card #1 – Red Door.  As a basis card revealing the nature of the question we find a negative influence or attitude.  This card clearly shows the client is thinking pessimistically and thinking the sales will not increase.  Could it be the client is blocking her own progress.  The gate is closed, however, there is space between the boards for easy removal one at a time.  A plan is necessary and it is of the utmost importance this challenge is overcome in the process before reaching the Stars card.

Card #2 – Black Aquarius.  Here we find an astrological sign depicting group or organizational situations with the promise of increase.  Aquarius is about changes as well and falling in the middle this means a shift needs to occur in attitude or approach towards selling.  New innovative ideas need to be implemented and this can be done with a little re-evaluation of techniques. Getting rid of what didn’t work in the past would be my advice to the client.

With Mercury going retrograde at the same time anything to do with communications could stagnate. On the more positive, Mercury retrograde can also mean revisiting some previous sales clients who may have said no in the past.

Card #3 – Blue Stars.  The results or outcome spanning over the 6 weeks show that focus is necessary with a clear objective to reap the benefits of this card.  Blue Stars favor business dealings.  Everything will unfold according to God’s plan which may sound kind of corny but it’s true.  When situations are in keeping with the Universal laws of abundance all is well.

So how does this help the client to know it’s in God’s plan? I think by having faith in herself she will come up with a way to increase the sales. As there are many stars in the image it means there will be several opportunities for the sales to increase.  The client must remain optimistic.

Shustah reading

I wanted to post this very, very interesting 3 card Pages of Shustah© reading that I did this morning. It seems to me many people have their jobs on their mind or are wanting a change.

Veronica is still waiting for an answer. And I think the clarification card, RED -Little Foxes was most likely the key to that entire trio. “The real question is whether or not Veronica is really in a position whereby she would be considered for this employment opportunity despite her previous experience. I also get the feeling that this situation has “a curve ball” which I suspect is fast approaching perhaps within the week. For the most part the cards’ energies are good”. With that situation there is still a lot of red tape.

I got a call from a Sandie asking if she will land the job that she was being interviewed for before lunch time. She said it felt like the interviewing process went well.

I asked the cards on her behalf and studied them for quite some time. I had no RED cards which was a good sign, that would have been a red flag right off the bat.

I meditated prior to drawing each of the 3 cards, focusing on her question, “will I get the job?”. The colors were good.

shustahmar7.jpg
GREEN- journey. BLACK – Gemini. BLUE- Child and the Puppy

My analysis of these cards shows much indecision which is confirmed by #3 Gemini. The Child and the Puppy gave me a feeling that she might have bitten off more than she could chew. In other words, maybe she did not have enough experience to land this job. #8 journey pointed to some travel or least progress which would have been the travel to another city for a second interview.

As it turned out, she did not get the position which we found out close to supper time. She was to get a telephone call at 4:30 with the answer if a second interview was in order. I suggested she call them, so that she did not worry or fantasize about this “dream” job over the weekend.

Sandie was very disappointed. The reason she did not get the job was because the “boots” the little girl is wearing she could not fill. Those “boots” symbolized the education degree that was mandatory for that job. Despite all the good references she had & exceptional experience, the interviewer’s hands were tied. He had to follow company policy.

Phooey, Phooey, on them, they broke the little girls heart and yes I bet she went home and cuddled her dog. :)

I went ahead and asked the Tarot cards and the probable outcome was 9 of Swords and the outcome was 9 of Cups. Basically, complete opposites. I was almost certain her wishes would come true regarding this job opportunity. I told Sandie not to give up because the materialization of the “wish card” will still happen but at a later time. Right now she is experiencing the 9 of Swords. The other cards in the Celtic cross supported the 9 of Cups, more so than the 9 of Swords…..and that is a topic for a whole other post.

Pages of Shustah(c) advice

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their supportive comments regarding the hit of the TOWER card. It’s nice to know that there are readers out there who took the time to write comforting words. Thanks :)

I reached for my Pages of Shustah© deck to see what lies ahead. The question on my mind was, “will I find another job within 2 weeks?” I used this time frame so that I could cross reference at a later date. I felt that I would receive profound guidance whether the time frame of 2 weeks was answered or not.

To my surprise I pulled all YELLOW cards. Well, thank goodness they weren’t RED.

The YELLOW suit is filled with the promise of creativity, gain and spiritual awareness (as described in Anne Manser + Cecil North accompanying book). To me, this color reminds me of optimism, brightness, sunshine and potential.

Here are the 3 cards that I drew while meditating on my question.

shustahmar3.jpg

YELLOW 12 [ golden horse] YELLOW 3[butterflies] YELLOW 13[angel of autumn]

Please click on the names of the cards for more detailed information on these cards on Rev Foor’s

Daily Reading & Meditation wonderful blog.

Card #1 – this card represents “why” the question on the mind of the person who is doing the 3 card draw reading is asked. I have drawn the Golden Horse. This particular horse is a winner. It also depicts a spiritual lesson that has been learned through the acceptance of the loss of job. Mind you it took me several days to digest everything so that I do not have any negativity associated with it. It was easy to lash out and blame some of the people involved. But, that is not the answer for my Highest Good. When you point the finger at someone or something – you are really pointing the finger at yourself. And that is were the process begins.

Card #2 – this card indicates the actual situation or problem surrounding the question. I drew the Butterflies. This card suggests things of a brief or temporary nature. I suppose it means that the job condition ended because there was no real foundation. Interestingly, that concept has been confirmed by the Tarot as well. Change is one of the keywords for the butterflies, here and there and everywhere. Butterflies don’t stay in one spot too long but they sure are beautiful. Is there some beauty is this entire process?

Card #3- typically the outcome or result card. I selected the Angel of Autumn. I would have rather seen another card in this spot because it has the message that during the autumn is a time frame to consider. That is very far away… and I cannot wait that long. This card also suggest lack of interest. I hope that does not mean it is me who has lost the interest. Maybe 2 weeks is too soon to find a job. Could it be that I will become involved in some other projects that do not come under the classification of “job”. You can be productive and work & it is not necessarily at a job. Somehow I see job connected to getting a paycheck and work as receiving other rewards that can produce income but not in the traditional way. Hey, I am just tossing some ideas around while interpreting this card.

It could be that I have lost interest or am apprehensive because there was a breach of trust during this loss of job process. I know deep in my heart that you only feel hurt when you become very attached to something or someone….ahhh, now I know what the butterflies mean in this reading. Funny, how answers come as you go through the process of delineation.

The butterflies are saying to let it go and not to be attached or to hold on to what happened. To move on and quickly. The Angel of Autumn is pointing to the release – loss of interest in the attachment. Hmmm this feels right.

If I were to answer my own question based on this layout, it would not be the promising “yes” which I initially thought after seeing 3 yellow cards. But the Angel is looking to the right and that is the direction of the future. And the Golden Horse is facing to the right…. the race has been won but there will be another race- to win. Time for preparations first…a horse does not race without adequate rest & nourishment.

When I meditate on the Butterflies card a little further. I get the feeling that I am suppose to observe the cycles which is sort of confirmed in the last card which is the season of autumn.

What is the advice of the Pages of Shustah© ? To release any energy surrounding the question of finding another job. I have passed the test & learned the lesson. Not to look back in disdain. It is all just a temporary situation.

To hold on to the strength of Archangel Michael’s wings rather than the fragile wings of the Butterflies.

Pages of Shustah(c) guidance

If you have been reading some of the Pages of Shustah© posts you might remember Veronica.

A situation has come up for her that could involve her returning to a job she held last year (the position which was not renewed by contract). Her question today is whether or not another opportunity would come up in the comings months regarding this job. The reason she is asking is because she had heard through the “grapevine” about a potential vacancy.

shustah10.jpgI asked the Pages of Shustah©

“will Veronica go back to her previous work environment?”

(the image is used to illustrate the Shustah© in this reading)

JOURNEY. Green 8- Situation around the question.

HOLY PIGS. Yellow 5- The current influences around the question.

SPINNING TOP. Yellow 9- The outcome or answer to the question.

LITTLE FOXES. Red 2- The unknown factor ( I like to pull a 4th card to reveal additional information that is either a challenge or blessing)

JOURNEY -green colored cards indicate progress or free moving energy. The Journey card suggests that there is a goal or objective in this situation with a destination. The road in the image is not straight and indicates the potential of moving through the overpass. This card is filled with promise because there are no evident blockages.

HOLY PIGS – The energy surround the current influences is powerful. This is a card of good luck as stated in the accompanying book. It will require a nurturing process and suggests that Veronica’s desire to return to the former job will fulfill an emotional need she has. It is also a matter of financial survival. The energy of this card is within certain boundaries depicted by the fence in the background of the image.

SPINNING TOP – The answer to the question is another yellow card – suggesting gain and awareness. There is an element of a big surprise coming. Coupled with the HOLY PIGS, the surprise points to complete abundance and a high probability that Veronica will return to this former work environment.

But perhaps not in the way she is anticipating or in the job that she has gotten word of through the grapevine. The Spinning Top is a card that also can reveal information that might be in Veronica’s best interest but I get the feeling it would benefit others in the process as well….. maybe the person who relayed this news to her.

Although the Spinning Top card is generally positive energy, there is the element of a “twist” of fate within this card. It is not known if the little clown in the picture is full of mischief.

 Read Rev. Foor’s Insights on the LITTLE FOXES – I chose a 4th card as clarification to the Spinning Top- the answer card, because I wanted to see if this surprise will continue the positive energy of the HOLY PIGS card. When I saw the red card I had mixed feelings.

Red cards in the Shustah© deck usually point to disappointments of one kind or another, delays or challenges. This is not always negative because without adversity we do not recognize accomplishments.

The Little Foxes suggest interference. There is a strong message contained within this card for Veronica to look at her own objectives as to why she would want to return to the former work environment. I also get the feeling that she may have been misinformed and that the person giving her the inside scoop of this potential opportunity has motives or goals of her own. It boils down to “what is in it for me”. Unfortunately, some people do not help others without strings. And in many cases where this is so – both parties benefit in the end.

UPDATE:FEB 17- Veronica got information that a decision is in the infancy stage. The person that originally gave her the lead on this opportunity could not divulge any further information due to the delicate nature of “office politics”. She was advised not to give up and to be patient….. more on this as it develops. Is it the LITTLE FOXES keeping secrets?

In my overall summary of the cards, I expressed to Veronica that there is more information that she will receive regarding this “past” work environment. Something has not been factored, and there is an obvious element that will come to light very shortly.

The Little Foxes combined with the Spinning Top produces a word of Caution. Red and Yellow = orange= caution.

The real question is whether or not Veronica is really in a position whereby she would be considered for this employment opportunity despite her previous experience. I also get the feeling that this situation has “a curve ball” which I suspect is fast approaching perhaps within the week. For the most part the cards’ energies are good.

Big Wish as outcome (updated Dec 20)

VERONICA from a former post in October has decided to apply for another job.I did not meet in person with her but I did draw three cards from the Pages of Shustah©.Her question was simple, “will I get the job at xyz company?” The interview is on Thursday Dec. 20th.When I saw the last card in the Shustah© trio I recalled the last time this card made it’s appearance. If you click on the word VERONICA in the first sentence the link will take you to the previous reading.

17decshuatah.jpg

Position 1 -generally represents the situation around the person asking the question.RED 11. The Spying Page.

This card is perfect for the way Veronica is feeling lately. Her confidence is not at 100% capacity due to setbacks in both in job & personal life. She is not happy that her other contract position was so short-lived. In the image you can see the Page sitting on a log waiting for some action. The Page looks ready to leap at a seconds notice. You can sense that this Page is listening and observing. In the background is a thick bush which could conceal an onlooker.

Position 2 - will describe the issue or question at hand. Sometimes the middle card is the view of others who are involved in the question or in the person’s life at the time the question is asked. More times than not the center cards expands on the first one, which leads to the third one- the outcome.

GREEN (green is productive & increasing energy) 14. Lord of Contemplation. When I meditate on this lord I see the peacock headdress that surrounds him to be filled with feathers. Often resembling a goat’s face (mentioned in other posts) today I do not see that as clearly. What my eyes are drawn to is his nose. Flat and wide as it is but it reminds me of a pig instead, ha-ha.Veronica is thinking about this pending interview and is totally focused on money. The right foot of the lord is firmly set on top of a large coin. The wands he holds in his left hand looks like a golf club today. Different symbols are stronger in the image of the card than usual. I get the feeling of a person being disenchanted or experiencing loss of interest. The feeling of ho-hum. This card is suppose to be about reflection and meditation. Both the Red 11 and Green 14 are in a position of “stand by”. Perhaps Veronica feels like that too.

Position 3- the outcome, result or conclusion. The most likely answer.

BLUE 9. The Big Wish. Fabulous card. The answer is yes and it points to the fulfillment of a large desire. All of Veronica’s waiting and thinking could very well end up with her jumping up & down with joy. Getting off the log- so to speak. Veronica had the Big Wish the last time I asked the Shustah© card a question for her.

Her wish came true in that other reading but not in the way she expected - it was even better than imagined. I’ll post the result of this reading when I get word from Veronica.

..looks like there may be a formating bug..which is why the entries are corrected & reposted….

[UPDATE: DEC 20th - Sure enough the Pages of Shustah© were right on again -awesome news for Veronica. She begins her new job the 1st week of January 2008. As an afterthought, the Lord of Contemplation may be hinting that Veronica could be bored at this new position ... time will tell]

Pages of Shustah(c) Red 1 Death & Blue 9 Big Wish

.These 2 cards came up in a previous post using a 3-card-layout. Here we have a NO and a YES side by side. This duo suggests the death of a wish. Even though the Blue 9 is the last card suggesting the fulfillment of something near and dear to the person involved in the reading it does not mean it will be attained in the way that had been hoped for. The Red 1 card put a stop to that. On the bright side of the interpretation, out of the death or ending comes a new opportunity or beginning which can lead to the manifestation of “a wish” coming true.

In our example from the previous post Veronica wondered if another opportunity would come to her from that organization if her contract was not renewed (and it was not). It sure does not look like it or she would have been told yesterday. When you look at the red card it seems as though the grim reaper is getting ready to chop up all those hearts in the blue card. And perhaps her wishes were born out of nothing- something that could never be.

Asking Pages of Shustah(c)…

Today I decided to ask the Shustah(c) cards a question connected to the post using the standard playing cards.

I find that Rev Ken Foor author of the DAILY READING & MEDITATION blog writes his interpretation of the Shustah(c) cards with a Spiritual approach. He taps into the intuitive side of these cards which I find helpful.

Additional information can be found at The Art of Cartomancy which is written by Kapherus.

My question was, “will another opportunity come from the organization” if the contract is not renewed?”

shustahoct21.jpg

Black 12 Pisces, Red 1 Death, Blue 9 Big Wish

.Position 1- describes the basis, foundation or reason for asking the question.

Here we have Black 12 Pisces- This card could represent Veronica (her sun sign is Pisces). Some of the Astrological characteristics of Pisces are sensitivity, perception with a going with the flow attitude. Pisces is a complex sun sign because of the opposing energies within. For a Pisces to find equilibrium requires great strength of focus. How does this card fit into the 3 card reading? Maybe Veronica is wanting one direction in her work or career objectives but feeling something entirely different. I am not quite sure.

.Position 2 – describes the situation, issue or question. This spot is a little different in meaning than position 1 because it will give more detail on the nature of the energies involved in the card that falls here.

The 2nd card is Red 1 Death. I know that this card is about endings and completions. In regards to the question, Red 1 suggests that a natural conclusion has occurred. It is hinting at the fact that the contract will not be renewed in the capacity that was originally asked by the standard playing cards in the previous post. (link above) A new energy is emerging, a new beginning or new approach. We all know that the death of something means a transformation and another level of development is pending.

.Position 3- describes the potential outcome, advice or probable future.

The Blue 9 Big Wish is a very promising card to have in this position. It seems as though Red 1 and Blue 9 are complete opposites in energy but I think that because of the suggested meanings of the Death card – the big wish has a good chance of materializing. The question was about other opportunities which will stem from the job that has just run it’s course. Within this card is a “yes” message.

After reviewing the post written by Kapherus on Blue 9 and he mentions that if unfavorable cards are nearby, which Red 1 is to some degree, that consideration is necessary to clearly define what is really wished for. I know that sometimes what we wish for does come true and it is not always a good thing. If our intention comes from a fear we can get exactly what we don’t want or in this case, the opportunity might not be in Veronica’s best interest.

As I study Red 1 and Blue 9 my intuition tells me that a wish will come true but not in the way that is expected. I don’t get an overall positive feeling for the outcome. Anytime the wish card in Tarot 9 of cups is surrounded by negative cards it points to the unlikelihood of direct manifestation. The fact that the Big Wish is the last card tells me that something will develop, perhaps another opportunity for Veronica that stems from her original contact with that organization but maybe not within the organization. It could be the “drop of a name” reference or referral.

I will find out the results next week and then I will go back and study both the Shustah(c) reading and the playing cards.

[As always the Shustah(c) cards are illustrated for the purpose of experimental delineation & study]

Simple 5 card layout- Shustah

Below is a simple 5 card layout to try out. For the purpose of this sample I will use the Pages of Shustah(c) but you can use any deck of cards. The layout is based on asking a specific question. It can be done when you just want to see what guidance the cards have for you, usually a subconscious desire or something that you should address.

Shuffle the cards in a way that is comfortable for you. You can cut them and spread them out face down and select 5 cards placing them side by side. I like to leave card 3 (the middle one) face down until I read cards 1 & 2, 4 & 5.

page_1.jpg

Card 1 is the basis on your question. The root or the category you are asking about like business, love, money, relationships etc.

Card 2 represents what you already know about your question, something that you have just gone through -similar to the recent past.

Card 3 can be read next or saved until the end. This is the unknown influences. These influences are not necessarily negative or bad all the time, they can be positive as well. When you don’t see a positive angle you can affect the result because like attracts like.

Card 4 is the guidance or advice of the cards. It is not necessarily an answer, yet but a hint at how to handle the situation, problem or desired outcome.

Card 5 will be the outcome or result. If this card is negative take another look at card 3 to see if it something you are doing or not doing. When the result card is positive, there is a good chance you have followed the advice of card 4 and also paid heed to card 3.

The question is about a change of job. In our Shustah example we have:

Card 1 – yellow 7, treasure. The basis of the question is the job. The treasure does represent material gifts and money is material and it comes from working at a job. The feeling of this card is also about self worth. What are you worth or how do you value yourself?

Card 2 – red 8, serpent. The serpent tells us that a situation has just occurred in the recent past involving quite possibly delusion. The delusion of wanting a change of job. Hopefully it doesn’t mean deluding oneself into thinking a job could be forthcoming. One of the meanings of the serpent is a card of warning & caution. What situation happened that would create such a negative influence.

Card 3- blue 8, celestial bees. This card is the pivot of the reading. It represents what you are not seeing. Is it the warning of the serpent? or winged winter? The celestial bees do suggest physical work, intellectual busyness. Is creativity lacking in the current job? Or will it be missing at the next job.

Card 4 – red 13, winged winter. The angel has her back towards us, she is not interested in our question. This card also represent the winter time. The advice or guidance of winged winter is that the change of job will only occur through one’s own effort. No one is listening and no one will go out of their way to help. This card is not the best card to have when faced with a change of career. Help and assistance is necessary. If you don’t even get an interview, how do you have a chance?

Card 5 – yellow 8, the gnomes. The last card is promising. It suggest working at something. There could be an element of surprise coming. Something could very well be kept hidden about the prospects of another job. The gnomes know something you don’t.

Notice the three 8′s. One of the meanings is strength & final preparations. The cards are balanced in color except there is no green energy meaning progress & growth.

After giving it some thought and studying the cards my focus is drawn back to the celestial bees. The feeling I get is that another idea will be factored into the equation about changing jobs. Like coming up with a better plan. Surrounded by 2 red cards the celestial bees suggest that a talent or skill is being overlooked. There is a strong indication that a change of job will happen but not in the way one thinks & definitely it will not be handed on a silver platter.

Question using Shustah (c)

For the study purpose of Susan’s question I will use the Pages of Shustah(c).

Question: Will Susan’s contract be extended at work?

The BLUE STAR, GREEN LORD and GREEN OPEN DOOR are detailed by Kapherus on the Art of Cartomancy blog &

Rev Ken Foor explains these cards in a highly intuitive manner as well on his Daily Reading blog

Card #1 – BLUE 10 – The Stars

I am using the layout from Ann Manser & Cecil North that is included in the accompanying Shustah(c) book.

The first position is the premise of the reading. The basis or foundation is the question. The Stars card is full of promise and does suggest “favorable business”. But it must be remembered that is not the answer, just the energy surrounding the question. Even though there is a hint within the card of opportunities. The way I want to read this is that Susan’s attitude towards her job is healthy and she would reciprocate any rewards she received by working just as hard if not harder.

Card #2- GREEN 14 – Lord of Contemplation

The second position is the problem or situation. In this case we don’t really have a problem, it is more of a situational question. The Lord of Contemplation is one crazy looking dude. After meditating on this card for 15 minutes ( with the gent from Florida I met last week) I started to see the Lord’s face change into a goat and if you look carefully at his left hand (on your right facing you) you can see a hoof like shape. I immediately thought of Capricorn and the Pentacles suit of Tarot. I saw the King of Pentacles sitting patiently thinking about his next move. Capricorns do not rush into decisions. They study their options first and choose the one that will provide the best opportunity for advancement. There were many more notes I had written down about this card from the meditative circle I sat in.

In relation to Susan’s question this card to some degree represents her because the answer is not within her control and she does have to wait out the situation. In another aspect, this Lord represents her boss who is the person having to decide whether her contract will be extended. Again – the decision that is to be made will benefit the boss (& the company) first. If the answer is yes, Susan will also benefit. However, Susan can also benefit by working for someone else. The difference is she likes this position as depicted by the BLUE Stars card.

Card # 3 – GREEN 7 – The Open Door

The third position is the outcome or result of the question. The energy associated with the answer is hopeful and shows potential of materializing into a “yes”. With the open door is an opportunity for growth. Yes the door is open but the fence in the background points to a “controlled” environment. Perhaps the new contract will impinge on her creativity and not allow her room to grow thus boring & stifling her. Susan will have to decide when the time comes. I do think that she will be offered the renewal.

However, I do not get a 100% feeling that the contract will be renewed for sure by Susan. My feeling on it is that Susan has gone as far as she will with this company. By not accepting the contract she frees herself up to explore other pastures that lie outside the open door.

The fence can be a good omen because if we run wild with our goals without some kind of structure our energy becomes scattered. Also, I see Susan in the foreground (from the same angle as you are looking at the card) just about to take a step through the open door. The temptation is there.

My advise to Susan is to careful think over whether she really wants to renew her contract. Once she has answered that question truthfully to herself, I think that she will move on into another direction even if the contract renewal is offered to entice her.

just a thought…..if there is a huge gust of wind from the Lord of Contemplation…the door will slam shut
