future predictions.

When predicting the future with a deck of cards the end result does not always look favorable especially when asking a specific question.  It depends which layout you use as well but there is usually a outcome card.

The Celtic Cross comes to mind.  If all the cards preceding card #10, the last one are relatively positive in nature and the final card is one of supposed doom and gloom you have to wonder why.

This happens often.  As you turn each card over you feel a sense of relief when they appear positive in nature. As you progress to the last card and see that it is one of great challenge or profound disappointment it does stop you in your tracks.  You wonder how could that be.  Everything looks so smooth and so good.

When this happens the cards are telling you that perhaps the easy route is not the answer.  The path you are on is not necessarily correct. If you have little control of the direction in your life with a victim attitude and just take things as they come, even if they are really good, somewhere along the line a firecracker goes off.  I see higher level lessons involved and there would definitely be a ‘lesson’ to learn should the final card be one of difficulty.

So why don’t we learn some of these lessons once and for all? There is no simple answer to this.  Some people are reincarnated to learn the same lesson over & over.  Perhaps, in there previous lives they repeated a pattern which hurt other people only to come back to be on the receiving end of things.  This is only one way to look at it.

Maybe you don’t believe in reincarnation.  I have noticed many people are not deep thinkers and don’t give two hoots about the meaning of life.  It is us more sensitive individuals that are exploring the undercurrents of our experience so that we can evolve a humans and get to higher levels of understanding.  It does not mean that those other people are wrong.  This is such a profound topic that you could engage in weeks and weeks of conversations.

I did a Celtic layout once where all the cards gave the impression a new friendship would lead to a romantic relationship filled with promise only to find the 3 of Swords as the final card.  When I saw the final card I knew the person was not aware of the whole truth and even though they coasted in the pleasant stages of getting acquainted with the person the end result was brutal.

The person in question became ill and withdrew from continuing the relationship causing great intellectual pain for the client.  It was emotional pain as well.  The client would have continued whether the other person was ill or not.  The retraction of all contact sent the client into a very confused state thus feeling a mini death of a dream and intellectual plan.

The reverse is true as well.  All the cards can be very difficult and the final one as the outcome can be one of more positive ones depicting happiness and success.  All this means is that despite one’s current unhappiness they will overcome the challenges and survive.

There are situation which can be changed and in turn the future can change.  Thoughts are very powerful.  On change in thought or habitual way of thinking will be a domino effect, maybe not right away but eventually.

It is important to really understand your state of mind when asking a question.  Do you really want a certain result in the future?  Maybe you think you do.  Maybe your hopes are not in your highest good and the Universe throws you a curve ball to wake you up.  The Tower is perfect example of this.  I know many people who got hit on the side of the head with a Tower influence.

No amount of wishful thinking can produce the results you want.  It all has to been in the grand scheme of things as they say.  Yes, positive thinking helps but you have to believe what you are thinking and not bluffing yourself.  The test will come to see if you are of pure heart.

Can future events be altered?  I believe they can by following the advice of the cards.  By studying all the cards on all the levels not just what you want to see but what you aren’t seeing as well.

    I agree with your thoughts.

Recently, I did a Celtic Cross reading and had a similar result. Your thoughts give hope and understanding.

The outcome of the reading is one filled with fear and panic. How can this be when everything else seems so positive? Possibly the adversity of the outcome takes the issue to another level. The Divine may be preparing us to meet our greatest fear. There is hope in overcoming the adversity. Nothing lasts, fear, panic and adversity included. Unfortunately, even happiness is temporary too.

Yet how wonderful it is when we move through our fear and taste victory?

    Your insights are spot on.

Oh this is excellent. This has happened to me so many times when reading a Celtic Cross that I was beginning to wonder if the spread simply wasn’t for me. But what you have said here makes so much sense. And these thoughts have come at a perfect time for me personally as well. Coincidence? I wonder… ;-)
