I have had a long time interest in Feng Shui. In fact have offered advice to a business owner based on my own self taught knowledge.
Today, I pretty much tore the bedroom apart. Something just was not right- countless sleepless nights and some of the most bizarre dreams. A shifting -movement of energy- was necessary. I have been at this for most of the day.
The problem is the positioning of the bed. It is believed that your feet should not face the door to your bedroom because they drag the deceased out the door by the feet (?). I cannot relocate the bed to the other side of the room because there is a closet covering most of the wall. I think now the bed should go back to the way it was because my head will face the west I think, or something like that. I don’t have a compass.
I’ll try it tonight and see how I feel in the morning. LOL.
Ideally your head should be in the north and your feet facing south. This is the western perception of feng shui and not necessarily the classic Chinese feng shui. I am not studied in the classic Chinese feng shui but did just watch an introductory seminar on line and was surprised that there were such differences.
OK back to the bed… sitting here looking at the wall I noticed a mirror facing the bed. No wonder I have nightmares. This is a NO NO NO. You can have a mirror in the bedroom but it should not be in a position were you see your reflection in your bed.
Off it came. I replaced the wall clock with a picture that was more grounding instead of hearing the tic tic tic of the clock over my head.
I removed as much of the electrical stuff as possible, including the freaking modem which should NOT be here in the first place. My laptop sucks the rest of the energy out of the bed. The energy of the bedroom seems to be short circuited.
Call me crazy, but I am not fond of sleeping on an upper level, let alone in a high rise. I need to be ground level. Now there’s an idea….I will get some earth and put it in a jar or bowel for grounding.
I know that each room has a wealth corner as well as the entire layout of a house or apartment. In my wealth corner I had a pile of papers, modem, computer, lamp. NO NO NO NO – this is a blockage of chi flow. This corner has been redone and everything removed. It is important to have something solid or heavy in a wealth corner (western feng shui).
The opposite corner of the wealth corner is the LOVE/RELATIONSHIP corner, and it is on the top right side of the room as you enter it. I noticed that what I had was a clock and nothing indicative of romance. Two of anything should be there. NO electrical stuff or as little as possible -NO clutter. I have to think about this corner and make sure there are things pertaining to lovie dovie stuff.

Interesting points. I thought the bed should face the door, back to square one.
I popped in to read your articles, thanks for the nice links.
Thanks for stopping in.
After all the re-arranging in the bedroom, I found myself facing the exact same way as I did before. The only real difference is the mattress was turned to face the East wall but I still sleep facing the North -go figure.
I hung a dream catcher on the light on the ceiling with lots of additional feathers and little birds. I took the mirror off the wall that faced the bed and put it on the floor propped on a dresser facing the door.
Who knows, it depends on your belief system.
Hello, you mention the ‘wealth corner’. How do I find my wealth corner in a room? I’d love to know. Thanks!
Hello,
The wealth corner is the left hand corner of a room furthest away from the door going into the room. Placing something solid in the corner gives a grounding energy to the tangible world. Plants that have round leaves are better as they symbolize coins. A pic of fish, a fisherman or things pertaining to water symbolizes the flow of energy.
The wealth corner of a house will be in a different spot usually than the wealth corner of individual rooms. It would be the corner on the left side of house furthest away from the front door. In some homes where there are 2 or 3 levels it would be the main level that is used to determine the area.
