NEVER THINK THAT THE SCYTHE CARD WON’T EVENTUALLY CUT YOU.
Pay close attention to the card beside it.
The scythe & letter can foretell piercing news that will shatter you. It can be anything from dismissal letter, a good bye forever Email, results from a test, someone telling you off or an eviction notice.
Not always will there be a mind or emotion shattering experience BUT in all probability whatever it is -YOU WILL REMEMBER IT.

I drew this for my very first Daily card – gave me the shivers.
However, nothing dramatic or dismal occurred thank goodness. The only noteable thing was that I discovered – came across – some information that I could have done with some time ago (I search for it for ages). A pleasurable discovery that is better late than never.
So the Scythe alone/singlular appears to indicate a harvest!
In this light, the filled haycart suggests that all the “cutting” or work of stripping away the dross and gathering the quality stuff, has been done, and I’m off to a new start with it!

One day, when I drew it for a daily card- I went through my closet (gasp) and removed all the things that I did not need anymore.
While vacationing on the west coast (and I detail this experience in a post from August 2006) I lost my debit card.
…and so on..
Traditionally, there is reference to the “harvest” as you mentioned. I think it would also work with re-programming one’s own negative thoughts.
